In the House chamber, Sanford will be sworn in approximately 5:15 p.m. Wednesday, spokesman Joel Sawyer said. The Republican will rejoin Congress a week after he defeated Democratic nominee Elizabeth Colbert Busch by nine points, even as he was barraged by Democratic outside spending.

“Fox News Sunday” host Chris Wallace asked Sanford over the weekend whether he intends to be a team player or an independent voice in the House.

“I’m a Republican who has always had an independent streak. I guess that would be the best way to define it,” Sanford responded.

I just became friends with Stockman's senior communications advisor on facebook. He mentioned he saw Mark in the halls and welcomed him back. He is also a libert guy.
