better than the title Mediate gave it, that Ron Paul 'agrees with Obama' which I don't think is a fair reading of what Ron wrote:

Ron Paul on Monday dismissed both Republican and White House claims about Benghazi as a “sideshow” and said GOP criticisms on the issue politically motivated.
“Republicans smell a political opportunity over evidence that the Administration heavily edited initial intelligence community talking points about the attack to remove or soften anything that might reflect badly on the president or the State Department,” Paul, a libertarian-leaning former Republican congressman and presidential candidate, charged in a column posted on Monday.

His comments came as reports indicated that official talking points about the deadly Sept. 11 attacks on the U.S. outpost in Benghazi, Libya, had been stripped of references to terrorism. President Barack Obama, for his part, on Monday rejected criticism over the talking points as a “sideshow.” Paul, too, used that word — but in a very different context.
“The real lesson of Benghazi will not be learned because neither Republicans nor Democrats want to hear it,” he concluded. “But it is our interventionist foreign policy and its unintended consequences that have created these problems, including the attack and murder of Ambassador Stevens. The disputed talking points and White House whitewashing are just a sideshow.”

“Republicans smell a political opportunity over evidence that the administration heavily edited initial intelligence community talking points about the attack to remove or soften anything that might reflect badly on the president or the State Department"

Pretty much. Not the crux of the article, no, but at least Rand Paul had some a Democratic or two show up on the Senate floor during his filibuster and you had pundits and articles calling out the left for its hypocrisy on the issue. 'Political opportunity' is pretty accurate. Sure, some will say they- Republicans and those affected alike- want justice, going after Clinton and all, but if she weren't considered a potential contender in 2016, I have to wonder whether Republicans would be going after her with the vigor that they are now. Especially considering you don't have that many, if at all, voices on the left calling her out as they did during Rand Paul's filibuster.

Unfortunately Mediate's title saying Ron 'agrees with Obama' is the one being picked up and Greta tweeted it so people are just reacting to that title and thinking he is siding with Obama, rather than just saying it is being used as a distraction from the true concerns we should be looking into.

As usual, Paul speaks beyond the two party/left-right paradigm and returns to the main issue---what the heck are we doing in yet another country anyway, seizing resources, intervening and organizing further interventions in nearby countries, stoking up tensions, setting up false-flag or black ops? Neither party wants to acknowledge the deep politics implications of the US/NATOrunning torture facilities in Benghazi, or using both the facility and the consulate to manage a gun running operation to the 'rebels' in Syria.
