I wonder if he would have given the same answer when Dubya was president. Actually, I don't wonder....I know he wouldn't have.

Edit: Eh, whatever.

He's really inconsistent and uninformed like most mainstream musicians.

yep. Cognitive dissonance on display and someone who has no concept of his philosophical principles. He sounded absolutely ridiculous.

On a related but different note: This is why most entertainers remain perpetual children. They had a talent for being introspective when they were young, but because they never really faced any adversity in life and found comfort from the easy life they had been afforded, they stagnated and their idealism and critical nature became complacence. They stopped growing. (I.E. Paul McCartney is a great example)

re: remaining perpetual children, I agree. I would say the same about most professional athletes.

Stevie didn't support Obama- he skirted the whole issue and kept it positive about wanting peace, without getting involved in the political shite.

It was also obvious that the question was meant to open up a whole bag of worms- Stevie just didn't go there.

You can't have peace if you don't know how to get there or don't know who is the enemy of it. It is a political process. If he stood on the fence about it, he's part of the problem.

He didn't stand on the fence, he simple reverted the questions back to peace. It was obvious that the questions were trying to lead him down a path that was not appropriate at the moment.

Stevie is not stupid and he is a very loving human being. I felt his interrogator was really off-base.

Blind leading the blind joke?

Was going to say that Stevie would do well to open his eyes but...you know. Not very polite considering.

Do you know, it's funny, but I never thought of being blind as a disadvantage, and I never thought of being black as a disadvantage.
Stevie Wonder

And therein lies the problem. We all think at any given moment that we *know* what is going on around us because our mental state always relies on the past for a reference. If you are blind physically or mentally, it doesn't doesn't really make a difference. You (and I) don't know what is *really* going on around us at any given instant in time. Is a blind person really the best reference for advice on the relative advantages or disadvantages of being without sight or being a certain color? I have no problem with Stevie, but I sure as hell am not going to take much stock in his advice for anything other than what he knows how to do well. I'm not interested in music advice at this point in my life. So no, no blind jokes, but this really is the blind helping the blind lead the blind.
