I think this network is going to be pretty badass. Also if you want take their survey at http://www.jagtv.com/#!take-the-survey/clcw, there ya go, and it looks like one of the networks officially interested in Ben Swann is JAGTV. According to their survey they are also interested in Amber Lyon and Gary Johnson hosting segments for them.

Once this network launches it would be pretty sweet if its a cable network.

Is no one else excited about the idea of both Ben Swann and Amber Lyon producing segments for this new libertarian minded news network? They're the two most popular alternative news personalities right now and have multiple awards between them, including 5 local Emmy's.

Why do they have a video in which they're cribbing everyone else's content, even to the point of putting their own logo over other networks' logos? What the hell is that about??

I really am not a fan of ventures that come out and say "look how great we're going to be, we're going to be the next big thing and we're PROFESSIONALS, etc, etc"

It reminds me of all the self-hype Jeremy Richter did leading up to his video release, basically implying that because he was running an expensive, professional production that his video would automatically be more worthy of consideration than the other "non-professionals" who were making RP videos.

Listen, I wish JAG TV and any other efforts spreading the message the best of luck. But I think the wise advice is to focus on doing good work and then promoting it, not the other way around.

I am not excited about yet another internet-only network.

Well, they've indicated they want to be a 'television-network' that competes with the other big networks like Fox, NBC, MSNBC, CNN. So I think they're trying to expand it further than just an internet show.

That's why I'm excited.

Everyone would like to do that, but it's not easy. If they can sign some heavy hitters like Ben Swann, and maybe lure the Judge from FOX News they might have a chance.

Distribution is challenging, particularly at a time when the big cable carriers are actually looking for reasons to drop — not add — new networks. But we are working on some interesting options that may leapfrog us ahead of others in this space.

next part is quite interesting. Some big names for sure. I would LOVE nothing more than to have a network that i can watch paleo talk with Mark Sisson and then hear Gary Johnson for the next hour!

Austin: Who are you working with talent-wise for the network? Can you dish us some of the names of people you might choose to star in the network?

Elizabeth Imus-Zero has signed on as talent

Jennifer: John Phillips and Elizabeth Imus (Don Imus’ daughter) have been on board from day one. We’ve got letters of intent from Larry Elder, Hannah Giles, Jake Head, Mark Sisson (leader of the libertarian primal diet crowd) — Gary Johnson has indicated he’s on board. Jack Hunter is someone we’d love to feature, and of course Dr. Paul is someone we’re talking to, in terms of a cable platform, and we’ve kept his folks appraised of our efforts since Day One. We’re continually having new talent reach out to us, and are in talks with some high profile hollywood names who share our vision, we all know what you risk in entertainment when you diverge from the herd.

Does that make you a JAGOFF (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jagoff)?

It does seem like a bad name, as I thought of the JAG TV show (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0112022/) (Judge Advocate General) - all JAG, all the time!

I agree with the sentiments on the name, and that's exactly why I advocated for Justin Machacek to be named "brand manager" ...also, the first conversation I had with Jennifer Grossman she told me she was open to changing the name...I'm working on it!

I got an email back from JAGTV.

This is what I asked

1. Do you intend on getting on cable/sat?

2. Have you signed any talent for on-air programming?

3. Do you have a launch date in mind and are you expecting to be on cable/sat at the time of launch?

And here is the response I received

The answer to your first is really easy: YES! We certainly are making plans for both cable and satellite. Also, we intend to utilize additional technologies to deliver video content to mobile devices and using a variety of internet media mechanisms - hopefully raising the bar for personal video distribution along the way.

Regarding talent, we are currently in talks with a number of people, many of whom have been mentioned in various posts at Ron Paul Forums over the years. Obviously, we can’t mention all of the names of people with whom we are currently negotiating or who may have current contracts with soon-to-be competitive networks. However, some of the names of people we are in talks with who can be mentioned are Ben Swann, Mark Sisson, Gary Johnson, Austin Petersen, Larry Elder and Tatiana Moroz. I’m already working with Austin Petersen on a couple of projects. People on the forums will probably remember him as an associate producer for Judge Andrew Napolitano when Freedom Watch was airing on Fox Business.

About a launch date, I’ll directly quote our founder and acting CEO Jennifer Grossman: “It depends on several variables, but we are aiming for the end of the year.”

I’d like to add that there will be a lot of things the activist community can do to help out. Over the next week or so, we’ll be asking for volunteers to help with a variety of issues, ranging from assisting with local events to projects requiring sophisticated technical skills. If this is something of interest to you, please be sure to stop by our site at http://www.jagtv.com/. Also, following us on social media or signing up on our email list will help you be among the first to know the new and exciting things about to happen at JAGTV.

I don't know about you guys but i'm pretty pumped about the possibility of TV shows featuring Mark Sisson, Ben Swann and Gary Johnson! I Am sure the others are great too but those three I mentioned are pretty heavy hitters.

I also wanted to mention that I sent a link to this discussion to Stephen so he could pop in from time to time and update us or answer any questions. I would also like to add that one thing I would really like to see would be a ROKU app for JAGTV. I can use my ROKU to stream netflix, pandora, or even Infowars. It would be nice if they could offer that option as well.

Thank you so much for leaving us your message from jagtv.com we really appreciate it.

Not sure about the consensus you refer to about the name we're using, as we have received a lot of feedback from those who like the name, but we are going through branding and open to a name change - do you and those interested in the project like to suggest some alternative names? We would certainly include this in our next brand meeting as we are still at an early albeit crucial stage of this massive launch. Your comment hasn't gone un-noticed and we thank you for bringing this up.

If you or others interested in JAGTV are interested, we are receiving a lot of offers for volunteering and we will soon be posting a free form entry on our website for any interested parties to sign-up so we can process this influx of interest. You're welcome to join! The form will be ready by Tuesday morning so be sure to check back or let me know if you're interested and I'd e glad to send you the form personally. You're welcome to share it with your friends, family and colleagues too.

Don't forget JAGTV is busy on Facebook and Twitter among many other social outlets, our links are:

here is what I would envision, with the time, money, and resources....

Torch of Liberty Network
"It does not take a majority to prevail... but rather an irate, tireless minority, keen on setting brushfires of freedom in the minds of men."

Lineup:

Judicial Watch w/ Andrew Napalitano: Discussion on current cases, rulings, and issues in the Judicial Branch. Explores the effect that various legal precedents have had on our country, and what new rulings could mean.

Reality Report w/ Ben Swann: Based on his news segment Ben Swann will look at the hard facts in politics and current events, and report on deep journalistic style investigative reports.

Liberty House: This is a new reality based show on air with a 24/7 online component. Take three hardcore Democrats, three far right neocon Republicans, and three absolute libertarians and stick them in a house for three months? Watch as various challenges unfold each week that require a hard look at political, philosophical, and personal leanings and meaning.

News Watchers: A round-table discussion featuring persons from left, right and center discussing not just the news but how other networks are framing it.

Definitely internet - it's why I asked Ricky Ray Butler from the Endorse Liberty PAC to be a part of this - but we're also looking at our options for cable and satellite, I know Jennifer wants it. As to talent - I do know that Jennifer Grossman recently had lunch with Penn Jillette's agent (and I spoke with Mojo Nixon's agent:) ...I also know Josh Tolley was given a letter of intent....

excellent! Ya know, i think developing a ROKU, Playstation, or XBOX app that would allow you to purchase a monthly subscription and stream the content through the app would be an awesome way to allow viewers to get the content.

Who in their right mind would peg success as being on a network or cable channel? In what world are either of those markets making a comeback or ever going to have a growing base ? The base they do have is dying anyways and are far too gone. By 2016 the baby boomers will of almost lost their grip on the voting majority. Second to that they are dying younger and faster then previous generations and I don't think they are going to want a system that is punitive towards apathetic lifestyles - call me crazy.

Two cheers for JAG from me.!

That video doesn't inspire much confidence. It looks like they just hired all the folks that were @ PJTV which is hardly a libertarian organization. :/

There are plenty of libertarian folks out there that they could have hired, but they went with them...oh well.

Out of curiosity I went to the web site. The first thing that I clicked on was this article that they tweeted. http://reason.com/reasontv/2013/05/28/march-against-genetically-modified-food

Is Reason.com which obviously promotes, or claims to promote a free market environment. Now my issue is that they (JAGTV) tweeted a video from Reason.com that set out to mimmick Fox News and others' practice of trying to make people who are protesting Monsanto look silly. What got me to chuckling is that reason.com claims to support the free market but fails to recognize the government controlled monopoly by monsanto that these people were protesting.

So, that was enough for me. Was the first thing that I clicked on and was transparent. Made me wish i was there with a microphone to ask reason.com what the difference is between a free market and a government controlled monopoly. If these are the kinds of usual shenanigans that they'll be referencing then I'll pass. Been there...done that. At the end of the game the king and the pawn go in the same box.

I'll stick with RT. Scwewy, huh?
