I really feel like part of why he was the VP on the ticket was because some ignorant voters would confuse him for the Pauls. This almost confirms it.

This works both ways though. Hell some voters might think that Rand was Romney's runningmate..

Hell, there are some voters who thought that Paul Ryan was Obama's running mate. May have been on Jay Leno.

He wants people to stand up for their principles by voting to violate their principles just like he did with the TARP bill.

well now looking back, whoever came up with "stand with rand"

is appearing more and more ingenious.. wonder who came up with it. it's almost becoming the slogan of choice leading toward 2016, like hope&change of 08. i think sanford had that slogan on his facebook too.. something like 'i stand with sanford'

That was my point, but take it even further, I think they could have even confused him and Ron, the one whose name was buzzing during the primary season.

I mean, if they're not informed to enough to know that this is a different person, they probably aren't tuned in enough to realize that Ron is significantly older.

An awesome slogan indeed, but doesn't seem like it was a tough one to come up with. Was too easy and perfect for his filibuster coming out party.

He's definitely trying to compete with Rand Paul here and trying to confuse people by pretending to be a beltway libertarian. The average fool can't tell the difference.

I'm back and forth with Rand almost every day (but on very specific things. Not so much in scope.) and this kind of nonsense of helping the opposition along baffles the heck out of me. It's not that I doubt Rand so much but, gosh, the base just do not think. They just act.

I agree, 'Stand With Rand' is a great slogan. Reminds me of 'I like Ike". Not surprising that it is being copied.

Haha, yeah. I was at a friend's house last night and they were reading some of the comments off to me. Glad to hear they were scathing.

It sounded like Ryan put up a new (second) similar petition, saying pretty much the same amount of nothing.
