Former Neocon here. Got sick of watching the Iraq war drag on and on and on while the economy tanked. I went to meetup fed up with the political process and met some great people. Never looked back. Always liked Ron but didn't realize HOW consistant he was until I joined here.

I was already pretty much an economic genius and philosophical and spiritual perfectionist searching for solutions to promote social justice and truth prior to the formation of the forum and awareness of Ron Paul. It was comforting to see that the psychic vibrations I was in tune with had manifested itself within this community. I first heard about this place on another libertarian-based message board, and lurked for an entire year before finally joining. Still kicking myself for that. Even though RPF has changed considerably over the years (there just seemed to be much more of an activist, "get it done" type of attitude among the original 2007-8 population), it's still the best source on the internet for news, current events, and analysis discussion of them. I'll always remember the excitement building and building in the fall of 2007. The merciless mocking of the shills by rev9. The first moneybomb. The billionaire thread. The blimp. Meeting Josh, TheTyke, shemdogg, gunny, CaseyJones, and so many others (and even getting to shake The Collins' hand!) at CPAC 2011. Rand's election. So much excitement, so many good and interesting times! Thanks to Josh for making it all possible, and thanks to the rest of the 2007-8 crew who have managed to stick around for all these years!
