Cause I am fantastically bored.

(Must be available in audio format!)

Just finished "Survivors" was pretty good.

If you read Survivors, I hope you read both Patriots and Founders which are part of the trilogy. A bit too religious for me, and possibly far fetched, but good books nonetheless. They make you think.

I love me some audiobooks...

Some more dystopian fiction:

1984
Brave New world
A Clockwork Orange
Atlas Shrugged
The Fountainhead
The Hunger Games (3 book trilogy including Catching Fire and The Mockingjay)
V for Vendetta
The Driver (available for free at mises.org)
The Running Man
God is Dead

There are more. I can't think of them. Oh yeah, IMO the Game of Thrones books fit well within this category too.

I would recommend any Robert Heinlein. His Science Fiction speaks on a lot of libertarian attitudes. Very well written.

I'm on the last audioook that's currently out in the Song of Ice and Fire (Game if Thrones) series. Very much enjoying it although it hasn't been quite as good since the third one.

I'm going to give Brave New World another chance soon and I have Atlas Shrugged and the Fountainhead on my iPad so I'll probably get to those too.

I can NOT recommend Game of Thrones as it is unknown as to when/how the series will be finished (Books 6 & 7). These are likely 5-7 years out.

It’s also very much worth noting that Benioff and Weiss have both expressed a desire to see Game of Thrones go as long as nine seasons, which isn’t outside the realm of possibility depending on the size of the unfinished books and how A Feast For Crows and A Dance With Dragons are adapted. If Martin doesn’t speed things up, he’s going to find himself with an incomplete manuscript and a TV series with nowhere to go.

Ultimately, Martin’s just affirming something that’s been a real concern for quite some time, but it’s encouraging to see him confront the problem head-on. Now we’ll just have to wait and see if he manages to cross the finish line before Benioff and Weiss overtake him.

Here's a pic of George R.R. Martin collaborating with his son on some upcoming plot points:

My other issue with the illiberal Obama supporter (http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/08/13/game-of-thrones-author-republicans_n_1773283.html) is that he only seems capable of writing two thirds a story. He does great at the beginnings and middles but there is ZERO evidence he can actually end a plotline. My theory is that he dropped out of word school at some point and missed some crucial lectures.

Spoilers! (Highlight to read) --> Why is that kid stuck in tree roots? How'd that bitch come back to life? Will incest beat outcest? Tune in twenty-five years from now to maybe find out! <-- Spoilers! (Highlight to read)

Game of Thrones to me is similar to a dystopian novel without the futuristic theme required to be dystopic. So far all of the warring families display the inherently evil effects government creates. But yeah we don't know how it ends.

Le comte de monte cristo. Very long, good deal, and there is an unabridged version available.

I'm about halfway through this one. Very similar to 1984 and Brave New World.

Actually, it would be more accurate to say that 1984 and Brave New World (and Ayn Rand's Anthem) are very similar to We.

After all, We inspired or influenced them all. In fact, IIRC, I think heavenlyboy34 posted about this recently.

Zamyatin doesn't get nearly as much credit or attention as he deserves. Ahead of his time, I guess ...

The Silo Saga (Series) (http://www.audible.com/series/ref=ml_1_1?asin=B00CXQG7WY)

I'm almost through the 3rd book. These are really good. They should definitely make movies of these.

Basically it's like this. You've probably heard people like Alex Jones say evil people want to kill off most of the population. This is the story of the few survivors living underground and ignorant of their history.

Animal Farm was good. I don't read much fiction. (still haven't found time to read 1984) Animal Farm is stunningly accurate to a lot of what is evidenced today. On audiobook it is probably a little over four hours.. real quick read. I liked it if for nothing else the accurately described sheep.

I read that whole series, not in audio form, plus the prequel The First Shift which explains how it all began.
Good dystopian sci-fi,read the first 5 episodes before the prequel.
