President Barack Obama's approval rating has sunk to its lowest point since August, according to Rasmussen's daily tracking poll.

The poll finds that just 45 percent approve of Obama's job in office, which is the lowest it's been since last August 4, amid the 2012 presidential campaign. Meanwhile, 53 percent said they disapprove of Obama.

The new low mark comes as other polls have had similar findings, especially on key issues that will dominate Capitol Hill over the next few months. According to a Quinnipiac University poll released Wednesday, Obama's approval rating on the economy, immigration, and gun policy were all significantly underwater.

The Quinnipiac poll also found that on two of the issues — the economy and guns — respondents said they trusted Congressional Republicans to handle the issue more than Congressional Democrats. On immigration, Democrats narrowly hold a 39-38 edge.

45% seems pretty high to me. Wasn't bush's approval rating in the low 20s?

30's at the end of his term I believe. It's come full circle now and Obama and Bush have about equal approval ratings now, if not a slight lead for Bush.

Bush would be just as bad if he was still around.

It doesn't matter though. Once you pass "Capital criminal" category, it no longer matters. Both of them left it behind within a year in office.

Bush was at around 45% at this point of his presidency. I believe Bush dipped below 40% after Katrina and never really recovered from that.

Obama's Approval Rating Has Plunged To Its Worst Mark In Nine Months

Usually in nine months is what it takes for a new life to come into the world. Nine months to Obama is like watching paint dry with some vacations thrown in. What a hack, if I was a socialist I'd be ashamed to have him on my side.

His ratings have been remarkably consistant for a president in his second term. After the initial glow following his first inaguration had him in the 60's he has ranged pretty much between 45 and 50%- only briefly dipping into the 30's. http://www.presidency.ucsb.edu/data/popularity.php?pres=&sort=time&direct=DESC&Submit=DISPLAY

GW Bush peaked after 9/11 with 90% and steadily declined after that until he left office with a 34% rating (he was briefly in the 20's). http://www.presidency.ucsb.edu/data/popularity.php?pres=43&sort=time&direct=DESC&Submit=DISPLAY

Clinton actually increased his popularity ratings the longer he was in office. He left with a 66% approval rating. He was rarely below 40%. http://www.presidency.ucsb.edu/data/popularity.php?pres=42&sort=time&direct=DESC&Submit=DISPLAY

George HW Bush started very high- above 50% for his first two years- he declined in the second half dropping to 30% before a slight increase before leaving office. http://www.presidency.ucsb.edu/data/popularity.php?pres=41&sort=time&direct=DESC&Submit=DISPLAY

Reagan ranged from 40- nearly 70% finishing near 50%. http://www.presidency.ucsb.edu/data/popularity.php?pres=40&sort=time&direct=DESC&Submit=DISPLAY
