A man walked in and fired two shots in the air, according to local reports. Police said an air marshal fired at the suspect, but missed. That's when the man pulled out a gun and shot himself, according to AP.

Sounds like dude fired some rounds into the air then shot himself. My question is why?

I guess that is one way to draw attention to yourself (not one I would recommend though).

Why did he helped the air Marshall?

He just wanted to prove he was the better shot? (sorry)

Sounds like he fired two shots in the air before pulling out his gun, which is a bit puzzling.

Row after row of sitting ducks, all huddled up together doing the Compliance Shuffle.

Could have been much worse.

Because as we all know, when people lose everything, and they have nothing left to lose, they lose it...

a terminally ill person pushing gun control?
Pun would be funny if it wasn't so sad.
Sounds like he wanted an audience for his suicide.

Maybe he wanted to show how stupid it is to line people up in a public holding area "for their safety" ! (before leaving us. RIP)

Looks pretty obvious to me. He wanted some TV coverage / attention as he killed himself. Local TV coverage last night reported that he had left some messages on his Facebook (or whatever) indicating that he was planning to die and he didn't want to hurt other people.
