You know that scene in Woody Allen's movie "Sleeper"? - yeah, well the future just arrived.

I really think all members of Congress should be required to wear these, after upgrading them with a "bad touch" actuator - like a cattle prod...

I wonder how long it will take before someone hacks into a pair...

How long will it take before someone writes a AI program to simulate a human on one end...

Fundawear for Durex has created the first interactive underwear/lingerie for couples. Durexperiment gives new meaning to phone sex. The product allows a couple to have a remote sensual encounter complete with simulated touching through the use of a smartphone app and their sensor-embedded technology. This is what the phone company meant when they said “reach out and touch somebody.”

The Fundawear application links input from one touch screen to another via the internet and then relays the signal to touch actuators in the garments duplicating the sensation of being actually touched by someone. Basically it is a remote controlled vibrator simulating a human touch. Snepo the company bringing the product to market explains that Fundawear is the first product on the market to merge touch technology, remote presence and touch sensation in under garments.

Durex is the largest condom manufacturer in the world so presumably they know a thing or two about sex. They claim that Fundawear is the “future of foreplay.” Ben Moir, technical director of the project, said, “People will want this.” Bille Whitehouse, the fashion designer for Fundawear, described the product as “an attractive piece of technology.”

The product is currently in its trial phase and couples interested in the product can sign up to participate on the companies Fundawear Facebook page.

Very few industries adapt and leverage technology as quickly as the sex entertainment business. The industry was an early adapter to celluloid film, as well as personal home video such as VHS and DVD. When cable TV arrived, the sex industry was ready and waiting and to this day the vast majority of web sites are part of the sex trade. The sex trade practically built e-commerce, streaming video, and multi-media web sites. With this product, the industry is again looking to move to the forefront of technology.

Sleeper is one of my favorite movies.

This was also explored in Demolition Man.
