The Federal Reserve Board on Wednesday announced that the redesigned $100 note will begin circulating on October 8, 2013. This note, which incorporates new security features such as a blue, 3-D security ribbon, will be easier for the public to authenticate but more difficult for counterfeiters to replicate.

The new design for the $100 note was unveiled in 2010, but its introduction was postponed following an unexpected production delay. To ensure a smooth transition to the redesigned note when it begins circulating in October, the U.S. Currency Education Program is reaching out to businesses and consumers around the world to raise awareness about the new design and inform them about how to use its security features. More information about the new design $100 note, as well as training and educational materials, can be found at www.newmoney.gov.

Ah yes, these are the ones that got stolen from the trunk of a car before they were put into circulation. At least the thieves have known not to try and spend them until October. Is the use of a liberty bell and gold numbers irony or cruelty?

I see they have resorted to "Microprinting" since the bills are so small, they can't fit all the writing they need onto them without nano sized print. /s

LOL @ the gold 100. Tricky!

I can't find it now but when RP was on the financial services committee, he said a congresswoman said to him, "You mean our money is not backed by gold?" Your elected representatives, ladies and gents!

It's another sick central banksta joke! Like when they put Jackson on the $20.

Actually, it is the US Treasury, not the Fed designs and prints our currency.

LMAO. I knew when I saw your post as being the last one here you would have something to say about that.

Too predictable.

I am convinced, Zippy.

ETA: That you are a troll/paid shill

It does seem like a sick joke to put gold on the hundred dollar bill.

BTW, does anyone know what the hell that pot/satchel looking thing is on the bill?

Thank you. If trying to provide facts is shilling, I am definately guilty. Having a different opinion is not a shill. You are free to provide an alternative view and support it with your own facts.

It is apparently supposed to be an inkwell with an image of the Liberty Bell on it.

The inkwell and bell on the front of the bill and the number 100 on the right-hand corner also change from copper to green when the note is tilted.

Just wait until currency notes are valid for only 3 months and legal tender notes expire quickly.

I think that is one of the most probable scenarios for the currency collapse.
