Well to be fair about that there is a marked difference between somebody's intentional murdering others and a pill that other people choose to do outside of doctor spelled out instructions.

I'll be the first one to blame big pharma for a whole host of problems... But ...

That's the point Corbett and Kokesh were making! People are more focused on a bombing that killed e than an explosion that killed 15 because of the emotional response. So we'll put all of this money and energy trying to figure out how to prevent something that only killed a few people as opposed to doing things that arguably would save far more lives. Look at the recent Jon Stewart attack on the 2nd amendment. The prime minister of Australia was sooooo proud that there were "200 less coffins a year from gun violence." Forget for a second about whether there was an offset in the number of deaths from knife violence or suicide by other means. (Yes, they count the decrease in gun suicides as a victory, as if a suicidal person can't think of another way to kill himself). Are there other changes that could have been made that would have caused the same decrease in the number of deaths per year without infringing on personal freedom?

Back to the big pharma issue, would that many people OD on medical marijuana? I know this is a bit of a stretch, but say if we were certain that such a change would be guaranteed to reduce deaths by 11 per year? Then wouldn't not making that change in effect be signing the death warrants of 11 people? Or what about Vioxx where the drug companies and the FDA knew there was a problem?
