Gun control could be back on the Senate this week!

No one believes for a second the fight ended when the Senate voted down President Obama’s anti-gun agenda last week.

In fact, I’m now getting word from Capitol Hill insiders, gun control could be back on the Senate calendar as early as the end of this week!

Not only that, but less than 24 hours after the United States Senate defeated the Toomey-Manchin Background Check (NATIONAL GUN REGISTRATION) Bill, House Speaker John Boehner announced the House would also “look at [gun violence].”

That’s why I’m going to ask you to sign a No Gun Control, No Deals petition to your Congressman in just a moment.

This is because we have only one party in Congress. The statist party.

and a few scattered independents.

That is exactly the problem, but it is amazing to watch the influence the few of our guys have had in congress, and the grassroots influence on public debate shifting our way.

McCain said Congress needs to address specific aspects of gun violence that were not covered in the bill, including “the issue of crazy people who do terrible things,”

Oh, do please tell me how we can predict and control what crazy people do.

Schumer, McCain Promise Renewed Attack on Self-Defense Rights
http://reason.com/24-7/2013/04/25/schumer-mccain-promise-renewed-attack-on

Gun control legislation will return to the Senate floor despite an initial failed effort, top lawmakers said Thursday.

Sen. Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., said the "broad middle" will continue to press for action on a measure hammered out by a pair of pro-gun senators that would expand background checks on gun purchases.

"My own little prediction – I think we're going to bring this bill back before the end of the year and I think you may find some changes," said Schumer, during a breakfast sponsored by the Christian Science Monitor. "We may change the bill a little bit – but I think you may find some changes out there in the public. Lots of senators who thought it was safe to vote against it because of the intensity are not so sure anymore."

Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., one of four Republicans to vote in support of the measure, called the proposal "common sense," even though it wasn't precisely what he would have crafted.

"just say no."

This is ridiculous that they can keep putting legislation up that has already failed, over and over.

Oh joy, I thought we wouldn't get to get back on this joyous ride so soon! I call front row!

But seriously, no. This is just ridiculous.

Manchin: Gun bill to be reintroduced

Sen. Joe Manchin on Sunday said he would re-introduce a measure that would require criminal and mental health background checks for gun buyers at shows and online. The West Virginia Democrat says that if lawmakers read the bill, they will support it.

They're insane...

NO gun control crap...

McBomber has some nerve to call this "Common sense." The only background check I want is one to ensure no association with the State...

If lawmakers read the bill?

But I thought we were supposed to pass it to find out what's in it.

Now I'm confused.

They might try to bring other gun control amendments up.

Senate to vote on Coburn gun amendments to water bill.

One amendment would repeal a gun prohibition on land under the jurisdiction of the Army Corps of Engineers. The other would require annual reports from federal agencies on ammunition and gun purchases as well as firearm thefts, excepting some national security arms of government.

And next week. And next week. And next week. A million tiny legislative paper cuts until the blood is let out.
