CNBC says traders had no idea what happened. The algos (computers) took over and started selling everything. Must be nice to own a multi-billion dollar hedge fund and leave trading to a computer while you sip on mojitos in Bora Bora.

Just goes to prove the government needs more control over the internet. /s

Aw, shit. Half the country works for Brawndo.

Not anymore! The stock has dropped to zero...and the computer did that auto-layoff thing to everybody.

Those algos scan headlines, tweets, NYSE alerts, etc for keywords and react accordingly.

So now both 60 Minutes and AP's twitters have been hacked over a few days. Sounds like Twitter has some security problems.

I guess because it would mean war and we can ill afford one.

I don't know why anyone would believe the AP without confirmation, on anything they said, though, hacked or not.

Don't go there. I'm sure they'll tell us all about how this means we need CISPA and OUR privacy isn't available for them to raid as a solution.

They might say that but all it really shows is that Twitter needs to beef up their security. It's a private company and their vulnerabilities are not my concern.

People trading all say the same thing. But everyone understands that markets are emotional and nobody wants to be left holding the bag.

You'd think stocks would have skyrocketed. (Maybe I can't say that.)

Or AP does.

Or that. Nothing that the feds should be addressing, that's for sure. Private matter.

The next time someone breaks into my house and takes something Ill petition the government to make it illegal for someone to break into my house and take my things! That'll fix the problem. Or maybe I could just buy stronger doors and windows and fix it myself....naaa.....
