Cool is there going to be emailed reminders to vote based on the primary date for each state? If so, this is a GREAT tool that we need to spread around.

Also, pledged! :D A vote is something everyone can afford.

Reminders of party change deadlines and voter registration deadlines in each state would be good, too.

We need to make sure that this gets spread far and wide in the Ron Paul community because it will send out reminders to people to vote right before their state's primaries. This could be HUGE if we are able to get a lot of extra votes just from people that would have forgotten.

320 people have already pledged! If the site is able to increase voter turnout by even a few percent, that would be an ENORMOUS boost for the campaign. Doing the math on the primaries, our success will be largely influenced by how many of RPs fanatic supporters actually go out there and vote.

I'm planning on adding a captcha & email verification soon. Check out the front page though - it now has graphs!

I actually started one in August it simply got no traction. :(

Not having a dedicated domain probably killed it though:

Might be too late, but for places like Iowa, it'd be great to be able to have information on which precinct. Before caucus day, we need to coordinate all the RP supporters who will go to the same caucus site so we can push our delegates through.

I'd prefer to leave something such as that up to another web page Mastriff - if there are other sites doing that (meetup groups?) I will be happy to link pledgers to it (maybe on the pledge thank-you page), but the estimation and organization of all that using imperfect data is more then I am willing to attempt. On top of that, if I did attempt to do that on pledgeforpaul I think it would add too much incentive for sabotagers to try to mess up our estimates & precinct shuffling. Right now sabotagers can't really hurt the campaign with my site and I think it is serving a worthy enough purpose to leave it as is.

Here is a question for everyone - is there any good way to set a goal for pledgers in each state (or at least key states)? States are inconsistent in reporting previous year numbers (I think?). I'd like to at least set reasonable pledge goals for Iowa/New Hampshire/other key states. Any thoughts?

Another thing that is great about this site is that if we get this thing huge, we can combat the media's "it remains to be seen whether this can be translated into votes" b.s.

NO!!!!

The campaign is doing sign ups. The list is available to those to they have given access. Any "extra" list is only repetitive and confusing, not to mention it puts things out in the open thus rendering the cards in our hand to Romney and Huckabee and the world. STUPID STUPID STUPID move.

You want to sign people up?
https://www.ronpaul2008.com/join/

We have x,xxx sign ups in Iowa right now. Sorry I won't deal our cards to you guys out on the net.

The campaign gets people to sign up so they can be contacted as part of the get out the vote effort within the last 2 days. If that was not the case then Iowa would have several thousand Iowans as volunteers now a feat that would pretty much guarantee victory in the caucuses.

Trust me I know about the "sign ups", I use the campaign's list on an everyday basis. And this effort is at best a duplication and waste of time, at worse very damaging to the campaign due to other factors some of which have already been brought up.

Focus on getting supporters to the website and "Signed up" with the campaign. That should be the grassroots' goal. NOT to try and collect about of names and contacts and database them in parallel to the official campaign. Stop trying to have the "next big thing"!!

Bump, this is neat. Send an individual message to each person in your Meetup.

For the naysayers, I am willing to be swayed.. but how exactly will this conflict with the official campaign? We aren't giving our addresses, or even phone numbers for that matter. It will only be a simple head count to give a basic idea of support.

Please check out www.pledgeforpaul.com
It's a web site that's going to be used to gauge in general what Ron Paul's strongest and weakest states are, and, how much support he has in each. It's brand new, just started on the 22nd!

Not sure if this website is new, but I feel it is a GREAT way to gauge support for Dr. Paul. Perhaps, if it promoted enough, everyone who will vote for him can sign up for it.

i like how they will email you before your primary. This may help the supporter not actively involved in campaigning remember to vote. Also, we can see what state support lacks in, and focus efforts more.

Chowda, can you start pulling in the graph data for your cool site?

Swords, perhaps you can put this on TeaParty07.com?

This site is pretty cool for showing some real-time support metrics.

austin - PledgeForPaul.com is helping the official campaign get more signs ups. The first thing you see after pledging is a link telling you to also sign up with the official campaign.

If Iowa has 30,000 pledges for Ron Paul what are other Republican campaigns going to do? Spend more money on Iowa? Spend less money? Not a single person in the world knows if these 30,000 pledges will translate into 29,000 votes or 1,500 votes. Not a single person knows how many of them are already being counted in AP/CNN/etc polls. I contest that if any campaign (including RP's) uses this data to gauge what states they should spend more or less in they will be just as likely to hurt themselves as help.

What we do know is that when individuals pledge together for something bigger than they could do on their own, a November 5th can happen. The page is waking Ron Paul supporters up that would have otherwise not voted (myself included)! No amount of statistical information an opposing campaign can derive from PledgeForPaul will equal that.
