At this late stage, if there is any chance that this was another "Richard Jewel" type blunder, will they admit it? Every new piece of info raises new doubts about gov claims.

Suspects were not involved in robbery as was previously reported

Law enforcement now say that the Boston bombing suspect were not involved in a 7-Eleven robbery as was previously reported.

During a news conference held Friday evening, police said the surviving teen suspect is still on the loose and is an “armed and dangerous” individual but that the robbery at the convenience store was a separate and unrelated incident.

The media had reported early Friday that the MIT officer was killed by bombing suspect’s brothers’ 19-year-old Dzhokhar and 26-year-old Tamerlan Tsarnaev during a robbery and that the gun battle which killed the older brother had ensued because of that.
State police say they believe the suspect is still in Massachusetts after fleeing on foot but also say they “cannot lock down” an entire state because of it. Authorities urge everyone in Watertown to resume their normal lives and all city restrictions have been lifted including on area transportation.
It still isn’t clear who killed the MIT officer.

More on this:

7-Eleven robbery not related to Boston bombing suspects

Apr. 19, 2013 5:41 PM |
]There was a 7-Eleven robbery in Cambridge last night, but it had nothing to do with the Boston Marathon bombing suspects.

Margaret Chabris, the director of corporate communication at 7- Eleven, says the surveillance video of the crime was not taken at a 7-Eleven and that the suspect that did rob the 7-Eleven does not look like Tamerlan or Dzhokhar Tsarnaev.

“The suspect in the photos for that particular 7-Eleven robbery looks nothing like the suspects,” Chabris says. “The police or someone made a mistake. Someone was confused.”
A 7-Eleven asset protection manager watched video of the crime with the suspects and is certain the crime did not happen in their store.
At a press conference early this morning, when Massachusetts State Police Superintendent Timothy Alben described the manhunt and standoff that resulted in the death of an MIT police officer, he also said that the two brothers robbed a 7-Eleven.
Chabris says the story of the robbed 7-Eleven was online immediately and spread quickly. She has been calling journalists all day to ask them to make a correction.

This is one thing that we have been seeing with these emergency crisis. There is a lot and I mean a lot of false information from the feds and news agency. Thye claim fog of war and I say its all BS. This BS story shouldn't have been spread if they werent sure about it and if it somehow got to the media, they should have corrected it within hours but no its takes a whole 24hrs to get it straight.

I did hear that this was the case on one of the TV stations last night, but it was a short once over. But, I guess it was more than what you got most of the time after they find out that "And alcohol may have been involved" to be false in the old days.

There, tweaked the article.

While Bostonians were under lockdown, unbeknownst to me some residents of Ashland, OH were ALSO under lockdown

ASHLAND — An Ashland man is in custody after engaging authorities in a two-hour standoff Friday night.
Ashland police, Ashland County sheriff’s deputies, state troopers, the Special Response Team and Ashland firefighters surrounded 353 E. Fourth St. in an attempt to get Robert Waugaman, 28, off the roof.
“(Thursday), we had involvement with Robert Waugaman after he was involved in an incident with his live-in girlfriend. We had probable cause to arrest him for domestic violence and a couple other charges,” said Ashland police Lt. Steve Hoover. “(Thursday night), we were looking for him and couldn’t find him. (Friday), we found him at the house, but as officers arrived, he went out on the lower roof and then went to the top of the house. We tried to talk him down.”
Hoover said Waugaman paid no attention to police commands. All neighboring residents were ordered to not come out of their homes during the episode.

“At one point, he went into the house and came back out with a big knife,” Hoover said. “He went to the top of the roof again and started slitting his wrists. He was no danger to us unless he would have dropped down. We decided to wait it out — even though we now had a medical issue. We didn’t want him to hurt himself, but there was only so much we could do.”
Around 6:15 p.m., with help from a hostage negotiator, Hoover said Waugaman threw his knife to the ground and surrendered.
He was taken to Ashland Samaritan Hospital for treatment and then was to be transported to the Ashland County Jail, Hoover said.
Hoover said Waugaman will incur several charges, including the domestic violence charge from Wednesday.
