TIME has released its “100 Most Influential People in the World” list with seven different covers for the magazine’s latest issue. One of them features Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) whose entry in the list was written by former Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin.

Palin’s words:

His brand of libertarian-leaning conservatism attracts young voters, and recently he inspired the nation with his Capraesque filibuster demanding basic answers about our use of drones. I sent him some caribou jerky from Alaska to help keep up his strength on the Senate floor. There’s more where that came from for this bold Senator with 20/20 vision willing to take a stand for liberty.

Having his entry written by Palin was probably a diss, given her unpopularity.

Interesting.

Coburn made the list (written by Obama!!)

And so did Wayne LaPierre (written by Ted Nugent)

Sweet photo.

Some rather, uh, odd write up combinations for some of these, lol. At least Palin makes sense for Rand's, due to both being tea party personalities, etc.

Don't fool yourself. There are a lot of small government conservatives who pay attention to her endorsements, even though they wouldn't vote for her, specifically.

Anyone else get the feeling that the Democrats at Time Magazine think that they're helping Hillary 2016 by showcasing Rand? I say bring it.

there was also this cover but I'm not quite sure the story behind it, it was either buried a few pages deep in the above issue or in a separate issue only on the front in certain regions of the country, not sure which.

Coburn and Obama are buddies? That explains why Coburn's been selling out so much recently.

I don't know what's wrong with Palin. She's a former Republican vice presidential nominee. Nader wrote about Ron Paul last year and no one complained then.

not a photoshop. it is very fitting though, isn't it? with Rand taking the lead in the senate and Rubio following his lead multiple times recently, seems very symbolic of that.

they've been friends since 2005 when both entered the Senate and their wives met, and have written weekly letters to each other throughout the presidency. Can't really call him a sell out for that.

Right now, it's a good thing. He has to win over the Republican voters first. Remember? Palin is seen as a small government conservative; with her endorsement, it makes it much harder for the leftists to slur him in the same way as they did Ron. But, yes, they will find many other ways.

Worry about the Republican voters first. Because unless he reaches them, he won't get out of the starting gate.

I'm happy about the cover but wish that someone else wrote it. However, Palin was involved in Rands senate campaign so its not an unlikely fit or anything.

Was hoping for someone that appealed more to indies or ... someone else that "happens to be black".

(I absolutely hate separating people into skin tone categories - I use to be truly color blind at one time and all the politic stuff has made it where I have to force myself to somewhat group people into voting blocks ... and I hate it.)

How many times was Ron Paul supposed to be on the cover because of their bullshit poll contests? Fuck time. Just like every other media outlet. They begin playing nice to appease us when it's already TOO LATE. I'm not saying it's too late, but for example, they'll treat Paul nice AFTER he concedes from the race. So fuck them, they can suck on horse turds. I have more credibility in my balls.

With who? Palin is widely popular with many of the "other GOP" people. Its a complement to have it written by her.

The Time managing editor explains it in the below video. Each issue has all 7 covers inside, and the person on the very front cover is not fixed. So at your local newsstand you may be able to find a cover with Rand on the front depending on how may magazines are in stock. In the past when they did the Time 100 with multiple covers the front cover did not vary, but this year it is different.
