Senator Harry Reid of Nevada, the majority leader and a longtime gun rights advocate who had thrown himself behind the gun control measures, is expected to pull the bill from the Senate floor and move on to an Internet sales tax measure, then an overhaul of immigration policy, which has better prospects.

Big victory for conservatives and freedom-loving Americans! :)

Internet sales tax measure is next. They completed a procedural step today to bring the bill to the floor.

The bill is S. 743, the Marketplace Fairness Act.

It was voted through as an amendment to a non binding resolution a month ago by a 75-24 vote (with 26 Republicans voting yes).

You can see how your Senators voted here:

I guess now we need to light up their phones against the internet sales tax.

That seemed like it was going to happen today when Reid called for waiting until tomorrow after several Amendments failed.

But he did make procedural moves (by voting against it) so he can bring it up again, as I understand it. If 'climate gets better' in his view.
