Actor and comedian Jay Mohr waded into the gun debate on Twitter after Monday’s deadly terrorist attacks at the Boston Marathon.

“What bothers me most about today is that we’re getting used 2 it. ENOUGH. 2nd amendment must go. Violence has 2 stop. Culture MUST change,” the Jerry Maguire actor tweeted Monday night.

Mohr, who hosts a podcast and Jay Mohr Sports on Fox Sports Radio, followed it up with another tweet connecting the Second Amendment to a “culture of violence.”

The 2nd Amendment lends itself to the CULTURE of violence we are living in. Stop blowing up my timeline w your gun/porn fetishes.

— Jay Mohr (@jaymohr37) April 15, 2013

Following push back on Twitter, Mohr elaborated on his contention further, explaining that he finds it sad that gun massacres are becoming increasingly common.

“Newtown tragedy was gun violence. Where are u maniacs coming from. I’m just stating that its so sad we’re getting used to watching it on tv,” he tweeted.

He further stressed that his aim was not to politicize the event, but instead to point out what he described as a cultural numbness to violence.

I was almost maimed or killed by a pressure cooker when I was a toddler. One exploded at my grandmothers house and sent collard greens all over the kitchen. Fortunately my grandmother had just picked me up and took me out of the kitchen just prior to it. I have not recollection of the incident I only know because my mother told me about it.

Peter king was on earlier saying we need more surveillance camera's, more bomb sniffing dogs and urging shopkeepers to call the cops on people buying "bomb making components" like nails, ball bearings and call phones. He also was urging arming cops with jammers like in the sand box...

He is an "expert", after all being a former(?) IRA bag man...

Actually I value my pressure cooker at or above my guns. What I can't understand is how they generated enough pressure to make that thing go boom. 1st you'd have to stop the several places that a seal/safety value should break prior to system failure. Then you'd have to generate enough pressure (probably from some sort of chemical reaction). Then you'd have to get it to "explode" in the direction you wanted. My heavy pressure cooker has sides probably in the 1/2 - 3/8" range thick cast (some type of hardened aluminum.) I'm not sure where the fail point would be on it but to get it to act like that you'd have to get it well into the +50ish psi. That's a hell of a lot of force for one of those to take. You'd think it would have failed prior exploding like it did.

Frankly if you can kill and injure as many people as they did with 2 pressure cookers. Then 1. people are incredibly creative and 2. you'll never stop bad people from doing bad things regardless of how many rights/items they take away.

Also please don't post some youtube or something on how to make them. I really don't want to be gang raped by FBI, ATF. I'm just saying that working with pressure cookers as long as I have it would take a hell of a lot of thought and I'm guessing practice to get it to work.

Depending how old you are the pressure cooker must not have had any safety valves. The 2 I own have 2 and 3 respectively. Even with it exploding in her kitchen unless you were really unlucky (exactly wrong place) your chances of being burned by flash steam would have been better. I'd say you probably would have had a better chance of the stove tipping on you then the pressure cooker getting you with shrapnel in a kitchen setting.

Anyone who uses or has purchased a pressure cooker needs to fill out a registration form and be monitored. And the authorities should be authorized to come into your home to make sure your not cooking up trouble....

You don't like it?? Then you pressure cooker lovers should switch to microwaves! Deal with it! And non-whistling silenced pressure cookers should be outright banned...

Pressure cookers need to be registered with a serial number on them so they can be traced back to the person who made the bomb.

What a moron. What does the Second Amendment have to do with our culture of violence? I could swear that prior to Hollywood glamorization of violence and psychiatry, gun toting citizens were polite gentlemen who only resorted to violence when they had no choice. When will people start blaming the chemical and predictive programing that is wiring people?

Blaming the Second Amendment for our violent society is like blaming a hammer, axe, chainsaw, arm, leg, or any other tool/device that can be weaponized.

Sheesh. Recognizing man's nature gave rise to the Second amendment as a logical measure to deal with the nature of man .

Yet there are those who want to pretend man has changed. Fools. Ignoring man's nature is the problem here. It's amazing how the "evolved man" folks skip right over what was learned/recognized not more than 230+ years ago.
