Wasn't Rand promised hearings on vias's when those two terrorists from Bowling Green were arrested?

He released a hold on a bill or nomination or something and they promised a hearing.

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (AP) — An Iraqi man who pleaded guilty to terrorism charges in Kentucky was sentenced Tuesday to life in prison without parole and a co-defendant received a 40-year sentence for his role in a plot to ship weapons and cash to insurgents in Iraq.

Hard to find an up to date article on this. Most are from 2011 when it first happened. Best I could find.

Rand was making a fuss about the visa's at the time and had a hold on something.

That's what I remember.

Don't forget these 'terrorists' who are locked up - either in the US or at Gitmo - are considered political prisoners.

The IRA fought very hard to get their prisoners released in Belfast and it was a condition of 'peace'.

So the more of these people that get locked up including people like the Blind Sheik and these two from Kentucky and the guys from Gitmo who are currently starving themselves then the more their sympathizers will be motivated to strike.

The lesson from Northern Ireland is that sooner or later you have to negotiate and initiate some kind of peace process which includes prisoner release.

The IRA regularly bombed British cities and even mortar attacked Downing Street in the early 90's.

Just sayin'.

Conclusion: As more terrorists get locked up the more motivation there is to initiate bombings and violence within America and to 'fight' for their release. The only way to resolve it and to stop the spiraling descent of violence and terrorist activity is to enter into negotiations with the terrorists and adhere to some of their demands. The more one side digs in the worse it gets. It took the UK 30 years to realize this before conducting 'peace' with the IRA.
