The government Propaganda Officer didn't really sound too sympathetic to the driver. "why didn't you show your ID right away?" Why did you have a dashcam?" etc.

Isolated case indeed; the officer was placed on unpaid suspension. Must've been an administrative error.

Seems like all cops should have a recorder going on them all of the time and no way for them to turn it off. I'll bet they would finally figure out they are not so high and mighty as they believe they are.

ughh....why did he answer the newsgal when she asked what he was doing in the parking lot. i'd have said "irrelevant". or "i was parking, it's a lot for parking and thats what i was doing" i hate when they try to minimize shit with useless details. whenever a cop pulls me over and asked "where you headed tonight?" i always say "south" or whatever direction i happen to be going.

I know right, I love it. What kind of nefarious purpose could a dashcam possibly serve? Perhaps people equate anything that cops have with things that civilians shouldn't unless they're criminals.

It does seem to be a legitimate question, though, since that's what most people would do. I don't expect media to be sympathetic. That's not their job.

No kidding. Their job is to be sympathetic to the state.

And as we know, this camera could have been transformed into a rocket launcher. Luckily Officer Friendly took pity on the young man and graciously permitted him to live to park again.

You're going too far WI. Cell phones can only be made into ".22s and tasers".

I don't know what that reporter's motivations were, but I'm glad she asked those questions. On the surface they seem like unsympathetic or maybe routine questions, but she threw a fat one over the plate. In effect, she asked "why should all citizens install a dash cam?"

Any other night he could have "tried him" without repercussions?

Why did the libertarian cross the street?

"None of your business. Am I being detained?"

This is apparently in my state, my area, but nowhere near my home.

We get cops that do this:

I don't know about you, but sometimes it is just relaxing to just talk a little quiet walk out at night. I shudder to think what you would tell a cop who asks you "where are you going".
