Bitcoin based stock exchange or commodities?

Just a dream or and idea, one thing that pisses me off about the government controlled stock exchange and commodities exchange is that controlled by the US government. Under a time of "emergency" they have been known to manipulate trading by shut down the trading, banning shorts, changing the rules to prevent "speculators" so if you "bit cons" can come up with an idea or a website that can trade stocks and gold based on bitcoin that is always trading 24/7 and can not be shut down by any government agency i would be interested.

I can only assume any exchanges are strictly regulated within the US. It would take a lot of legal effort to get this sort of thing working. Perhaps the venture capital firm that will be taking over the US / Canada customers of the largest Bitcoin exchange will jump into this.

It just pisses me off when the market "goes crazy" the government/regulators shuts down the market.
