Depends on who's version and at what point after the shooting.

Originally it has reported as 4 semi-auto pistols.
Then it was semi-auto pistols but a semi-auto Bushmaster was found in the car trunk.
Then it was a semi-auto Bushmaster and semi-auto pistols. And shotgun in the trunk.
Then it was a semi-auto Bushmaster only and a semi-auto pistol was used to commit suicide. And a shot gun in the trunk.
Supposedly Obama's been going around saying it was a full auto Bushmaster.
Who the hell knows for sure?

Actually the Bushmaster had a curse on it. It broke out of the trunk and shot up the school, then locked itself back in the trunk. Then there was a guy out in the bushes wearing camo who saw the whole thing. He snitched on the Bushmaster.

It looks like a shotgun shell is chambered when a long gun is pulled out of the trunk. They give a nice photo op to the chopper in the evening with a spotlight on the vehicle for whatever reason.

Nobody really knows until they reveal the video from Sandy Hook. Right now, you just have to take their word for it. Also the long gun retrieved from the trunk of the car was a Saiga Shotgun and not a rifle.
