********** WHO **********
Ron Paul is an American physician, novelist, and former politician who served as the U.S. Representative for Texas’s 14th congressional district from 1997 to 2013. He pursued the presidency of the United States on three occasions: as the Libertarian Party candidate in 1988 and as a nominee in the Republican primaries in 2008 and 2012.

A native of Pittsburgh, Dr. Paul graduated from Gettysburg College then earned a Doctor of Medicine degree from Duke University’s School of Medicine. He has served as a surgeon in the United States Air Force and National Guard, and then moved to Texas, where he opened a private practice in obstetrics and gynecology.

Dr. Paul has been called the “intellectual godfather” of the Tea Party Movement and is known for his mix of traditional conservatism and libertarian views. Over the years, Paul has sustained a steadfast consistency on taxation, executive power, and pro-life matters. He is also a critic of foreign and domestic monetary policies and has called for the end of the War on Drugs and foreign conflict. He has authored several books, including The Case for Gold (1982), Liberty Defined (2011), End the Fed (2009), The Revolution: A Manifesto (2008), Pillars of Prosperity (2008), and A Foreign Policy of Freedom (2007), on topics of political and economic theory, which particularly publicize the philosophies of the Austrian School of economics and classical liberalism.

Although Dr. Paul has retired from the House and announced that he will not be competing in any other primaries, he remains active in the political conversation, espousing new visions for foreign policy and spreading his ideas on college campuses.

This is tomorrow. I haven't heard much about it, likely because it seems to be for students only.

Wow, Ron is doing back to back speeches, great way to kick off the spring. I can say that because where I'm at, yesterday was the first day of decent weather.
