Soghoian said that if you went to the apple store, got a new phone and had your password reset, you could chat with your friends as if nothing had happened. "That means apple could do that for the government, too."

Apple still has all this data stored on its cloud. The info could still be given by subpoena.

There are other apps on Android outside of App's walled garden that don't store the data on the cloud. I don't see this as a plus in Apple's favor but the article sure makes it seem that way.
