In a time of great national challenges, pitched battles over critical policy issues, and so much more, our nation's capital is the perfect setting for examining the roots of our commitment to liberty and limited government, and for exploring the ideas and values on which the American republic was founded.

A key feature of the Summer Seminar is the people. The enthusiasm and openness of the attendees is what really makes Cato University the one-of-a-kind event it is every year. Because we hope you'll be able to join us in Washington, we wanted to be sure you had an early opportunity to learn the details and register.

Cato University 2013: Summer Seminar on Political Economy

Dates: July 28–August 2, 2013

Special Highlights Include: A dinner on Capitol Hill with Senator Rand Paul (R-KY), and a special presentation by Cato Institute President John Allison on The Financial Crisis and the Free Market Cure.

The Setting: This year's program is once again being held at the Cato Institute's newly expanded headquarters, located in the heart of Washington, D.C. Now double its original size, the Cato building will enhance the intellectual adventure for attendees with state-of-the-art facilities, the latest in conference and multimedia technology, spacious and comfortable meeting areas, and more.

No Price Increase for 2013: To make this wonderful program as accessible to as many people as possible, we've kept the cost of Cato University at $995. This price covers all meals, receptions, lectures, materials, books, and evening events, but not overnight room charges. However, we have arranged low room rates for Cato University participants at a nearby hotel.
