What happens to all of our Republican delegates? Can you "switch" over to independents?

yeah, once the primaries are over the delegats duties are over, and Ron Paul WILL NOT lose the primaries, He WILL win by a landslide

So I don't have to open up a new thread.....if Ron Paul loses the primaries (which we know he wont), can I still show off my Ron Paul for president sign and write him in when the general election comes, or should I take it down?

Thats funny because I had a dream (a sleeping dream not a MLKJ type dream) last night that Ron Paul received 96% of the vote during the primaries.

My plan is to vote for him in my primary, then I'm going to vote for him in the general election. My course after that will depend upon the outcome.

Ill be the first in line to buy a "Dont blame me, I voted for Ron Paul" bumper sticker. :)

Agreed. He will win. Period.

We have to think that way to make it happen.

He won't lose...but if by some bizarre circumstance he does...be ready to continue the revolution. I suspect Ron Paul has a trick up his sleeve still.

If he looses the primaries, he needs to keep going......believe me they are gonna be rigged. If he looses the Republican nomination, I will see all of you at gitmo.

We much think this way but we also must take it upon ourselves that all the pre-lim stuff is done and not assume it will be done by others. Take part and make sure delegates are covered for your district and never delegate you own responsibilities in this race. This is noe more then ever an information race, or a misinformation race so do you part and see it through to the end.

I will no longer choose between the 'lesser of two evils'. I am voting for Ron Paul in the primaries and for President regardless.

he swears he will not run if he loses.

yet the system is fixed.

I doubt we'll know what Ron Paul will do until he does it, but he will be m vote the primaries and general election

Not true. He has "no plans" and "no intentions" of doing that. He's very careful not to say "No, I will not run."

Unless martial law is declared in the wake of another terrorist (?) attack, I will be voting for Ron Paul in 2008 no matter what happens, period.

If RP does not get the nomination, the delegates should screw over whoever the frontrunner is and support the lesser of the evils ( possibly huckabee). Just so we can show the GOP they need to change.

AlexMerced

lol, it'd be funnier if all the delegates voted tancredo in that case, but still I'm voting for RP in the general election no matter what

This question makes no sense. Delegates mean nothing unless you win all or a portion of them. Instead of our delegates going to St Paul it will just be Romney's, Huckabee's, etc

Click below and look at the list of delegates for Alabama. If Paul does not get 20% or someone gets over 50% in Alabama then all those delegates for Paul are useless.

No... absolutely not. The primaries are the beginning for the delegates. After that comes the rest of the convention process, up to the national convention and actually picking the candidate.

NO. The job for MOST delegates is over. Only 15-20% of the delegates now signed up with the Republican party will go to the Convention. An average of 47 Delegates per state will go to MN of a total "registered with the Republican party" batch of around 280 per state. (6 candidates x avg of 47 delegates)

For example here in AL, if you do not get 20% of the vote or someone gets over 50% then none of your delegates go to MN thus rendering their job completely done.
