I am new to the whole libertarianism thing and I am from California which is unfortunately very socialist and authoritarian. I became a libertarian being a rail fan I realized the destruction government can cause. Government over the years has destroyed railroads a valuable communal resource in the name of the "Public Good". Unfortunately most of my family works for government and thus criticizes libertarianism a lot. My family is unfortunately part of the current system and benefits too much from its proliferation to the point where they defend cronyism. I do find libertarianism to be a sound ideology though there seems to be inconsistency of the role of government and some of the people in the movement themselves seem to be inconsistent. Cheers.
