Two Colville boys face murder conspiracy charges for their alleged plot to kill fellow elementary school students in early February.

A judge found the 10 and 11-year-old, who appeared in Stevens County Superior Court Friday, both competent to stand trial.

Prosecutors say the fifth graders planned to rape and kill a girl who had been mocking them on their school bus. Prosecutors asked that despite the boys' young age, they be held responsible for their actions.

Whatever happened to old fashioned ass whuppin's?

Seems as though at least one girl and two boys have earned spankings, not a trial.

Dragging kids into court, especially kids this young strikes me as wrong.

Deemed illegal by the state. Realistically the good old whuppin that was prevalent in years past would probably be abused in a moral less society. Life is not like The Walton's or Little house on the prairie. Children are the byproduct of us and the system.
