Yeah, Santorum, Cain, Bachmann, et al were a bunch of freaking idiots and deserved to lose in 2012. But as we prepare to do our damndest to get the intelligent and articulate Rand Paul the GOP nomination for 2016, I think this an opportune time to pause and reflect on the man who did us the great favor of using up the Republican Party's entire indulgence with the American public for foisting sheer, unadulterated stupidity upon them--hopefully for the entire century to come.

"I'll be long gone before some smart person ever figures out what happened inside this Oval Office." --George W. Bush, Washington, D.C., May 12, 2008

I suspect he gives smart people too much credit. Smart people have been trying to understand the criminally insane since long before Freud, and we still haven't quite got them sorted out...

I still occasionally see Dubya bumper stickers around here. Stupid m-f'ers labeling themselves.

I see these people are still maintaining a pretty good little treasure trove...

Bush made some of the costliest blunders in US history. Unfortunately the idiot who replaced him is prtetty much on same track if not worse.

The one good thing about W is that after 2008 he completely dropped out of sight. You don't see him on TV or hear him on the radio every day.

Unfortunately, I can't see Obama doing that...

What was his comment about that time? Something along the lines of, 'They've stopped listening to me.' Actually, I think he said that in 2006 or 2007. What a relief that was!

Yeah, now that Obama's a lame duck, and if we bash him for failing to keep any of his wonderful campaign promises, Obama could get to that point as well. Especially if we keep bashing him.

Hope so.

I don't know, dems really love Obama and think he is one of the greatest presidents at least the hardcore ones I have talked to. I still even hear the Bush I mean Dubya economy comments on how he gave Obama such a bad economy and how it is now "coming" around.

Ask Ted Rall for a second opinion.

"Party politics is the most narrow minded occupation in the world."--Will Rogers

Yes, there are such creatures as you describe. There were also those who were, and are, with Dubya even unto death. But, you know, for all the noise they make, they are not so numerous as all that. There are tens of millions of Obama voters quietly enduring the slow burn of watching Obama fail to keep his promises. And if we don't count most of them among the Rand Paul voters next 'round, the fault is neither theirs nor Rand's, but our own.
