The Italian News agency ANSA is reporting that it has a seen a draft of the International Monetary Fund’s World Economic Outlook report slated for release next week and that that U.S. growth forecast has been lowered from 2% to 1.7%.
The reasons cited for the drop in growth predictions are newly imposed high taxes on higher-income Americans and the $85 billion sequester cuts.
ANSA says next week’s IMF report will predict that the world economy will expand at exactly twice the rate--3.4%--as the U.S. economy this year.

1.7 % would be impressive, much more than I would expect ....

I can't wait for Communist China's economy to overtake the United Socialist States of America's by the time Obama has finished doing his damage and gets out of office.

I've been learning Mandarin off and on for a couple years now. Maybe I should take it a bit more seriously. I definitely want to live there for a year or so in a few different regions to at least get the feel of everything. I'm not sure why but I've always liked the way the language sounds and also reading the characters.

I'm sure after 3 months I'll be missing America though... that's just the way it goes!

Well I live here in the USA, so I can't say I'm rooting for China, but I looking forward to a return to true market capitalism. I dig the idea of family ownership of land.......call me strange.:D

Ah, I wish it weren't so either.

Much like your location , I sometimes lament that I'm in the right place at the wrong time here in America.
