In an attempt to offer an idea in accordance with Federal Election Commission rules about fundraising, here's a thought for anyone that has a PAC or wants to start a PAC for fundraising.

Go to Kitco.com (https://online.kitco.com/bullion/completelist.html) and buy a few thousand dollars worth of 5 gram Kitco ChipGold bars and have them signed by Ron Paul. Then have someone trustworthy run an online auction on a site like ebay for the autographed memorobilia and be sure to follow all of the http://www.fec.gov rules.

The current price of the 5 gram bars is around $138.50 (about 9% above makret price for gold). These small chips of gold are not wise investments since you need to buy 1oz or more of gold to approach the spot price of gold (http://www.kitco.com/charts/livegold.html) however it is close enough to not be totally just a keepsake, it is somewhat close to market value.

Kitco's description:

And, heck they make great Christmas present "gift cards" for Ron Paul people :D

You can buy the 1 gram bars for about $31, about 20% over the gold market spot value. The shipping is a flat rate of $30 so you'd want to buy several. i think the best is the 5 gram ones though, sort of close to spot price, and big enough that Ron Paul wouldn't have to sign more than a couple from any one individual.

For an estimate of what they would be worth, I think a signed 1 gram version could net $120-$150 and perhaps $300-$400 for a 5 gram.

I know I'd buy one if on Ebay right now.

Why not buy advertising space on Kitco? That audience might be 90+% Ron Paul but for hearing about or knowing about the candidate. We all know Ron Paul wins by a landslide on the issues, so if it's only a matter of name recognition, is there a better outlet for an advertisement that could produce more bang for the buck? It would be like preaching to the choir, only better because all that need be done is tell the choir who the preacher is.
