Would you, under any circumstances, advocate a world government? A world system? A world minarchy, maybe? I'm not voicing my own opinion, I just want to know what others think. No NWO, I'm talking about a small, limited government, very paleoconservative, maybe libertarian, what do you think? If you would support such a thing, how would it come to be, would the nations of the world join the US? Would there be war? Would there be some sort of neutral agreement? What do you think of this?

What do you think about becoming a planetary system?

In a purely hypothetical but unrealistic world:

A world government could not be forced, people would have to reach a level of enlightenment where it would all happen naturally but then again we wouldn't need a government if we reached such a state

/end hippy rant

I just thought of this from watching too much sci fi :p Star Wars / Star Trek

hmm, yes. I guess it depends: We would need to really STOP government from corrupting over the years, I think we can find the answer in ending taxation, this measure keeps government very small. Just keep government as a referee. Just a cool thing to think about sometimes. There are aso somne bad outcomes of a world government, I don't want to see a corporatist world government, that's not uhh fun to think about.

A world government can't work, too many cultures and areas are different from each other. Most of the people would give into a strong Socialist government to take care of them, it wouldn't stay Libertarian for long.

what about self ruling states? How about the Fed taxing by enumeration? (that's how the US used to be)

It would require completely a total change of Human nature. You would have to eliminate all greed, ambition and competition. In a world of mindless drones it may work.

Well, the only way I could see a world government is if RP wins. Then everyone wants to become a state. Then technically we'd become a world government. But RP would be president of the world =P Woohoo!

Star Trek, and other such creations, have taught you to simply obey orders from your new international rulers.

Watch Dr. Paul denounce the North American Union at the four minute mark. An interesting note but he remarks that politicians against the NAU are labeled by the media as ‘CONSPIRATORIAL’. See how Dr. Paul eloquently speaks to support of Israel in the first four minutes: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m4Jn2xCF92Y

No reason for it. The criteria I would require of a world government would delegate so little responsibility to it as to make it pointless.

A free planet with lots of local 'states' making all their own laws, while restricted in their power by a US Constitution like agreement, would be fine. But why have one in the first place if the member states/countries are completely free?

If we ever get off the planet and into space, then there would be cause for it. Planetary Defense ^^

In a thousand years, maybe our 20th generation progenitors will be fighting for a noninterventionist galactic foreign policy ^^

If RP gets elected maybe we can avoid WW3/energy wars/lots of death and actually make it that far!

What could a world government do?
