I can't wait for this Billionaire dictator to be out of office already!

'We're going to have more visibility and less privacy':
Mayor Bloomberg admits soon NYPD surveillance cameras will be on nearly every corner and in the air
By Tina Moore / NEW YORK DAILY NEWS

Big Brother is watching. Now get used to it!

Envisioning a future where privacy is a thing of the past, Mayor Bloomberg said Friday it will soon be impossible to escape the watchful eyes of surveillance cameras and even drones in the city.

He acknowledged privacy concerns, but said “you can’t keep the tides from coming in.”

“You wait, in five years, the technology is getting better, they’ll be cameras everyplace . . . whether you like it or not,” Bloomberg said.
The security measures have drawn scorn from some civil libertarians — but Bloomberg scoffed at privacy concerns on his Friday morning program on WOR-AM.

“The argument against using automation is just this craziness that 'Oh, it’s Big Brother,’” Bloomberg said. “Get used to it!”

The New York Civil Liberties Union has documented nearly 2,400 surveillance cameras fixed on public spaces in Manhattan alone. Many are operated by the police, others by poroperty owners.

In Lower Manhattan, an initiative developed after 9/11 known as the “Ring of Steel” integrates the NYPD’s cameras with those of banks and other institutions.

But in the future, the cameras won't just be planted on buildings and utility poles. Some of them will be able to fly, the mayor pointed out.
“It’s scary,” Bloomberg said. “But what’s the difference whether the drone is up in the air or on the building? I mean intellectually I have trouble making a distinction. And you know you're gonna have face recognition software. People are working on that.”

Bloomberg warned that drones would be able to peep into private residences - but that Peeping Tom legislation could help maintain some privacy.
“It's just we’re going into a different world, unchartered,” he said.

“We're going to have more visibility and less privacy. I don't see how you stop that. And it's not a question of whether I think it's good or bad. I just don't see how you could stop that because we're going to have them.”

Voted out of office?

What makes you think that's gonna happen?

Doomberg violated term limit laws, ran again, and "won" another term as mayor, handily.

The people want this, they clamor for it, the only time they complain about government is when it is not enslaving them fast enough.

Hizzoner does not realize, it can be stopped.

Saying how, publicly, would get me arrested, but it can be stopped.

I thought Bloomberg was 3rd party? Does he not like the liberals and neocons because they aren't socialist enough?

What is he part of, the communist party?

Doomberg was a democrat, then he was a republican, then he switched independent, to run yet again.

Does it really matter?

He's an authoritarian, that is all anybody needs to know.

As is the case with most of the ruling class these days, they are not in it for the money (Doomberg was a billionaire before he even started in politics), they are not in it for any altruistic purposes, they are not in it for the prestige or glamor (LOL - politics is show business for ugly people) and they certainly are not in it for the protection of individual liberties, the well being of the people and the careful stewardship of the law, liberty and sovereignty.

They are in it because they are psychopathic authoritarians.

They live to rule, to regulate, to oversee, to crack the whip, to make you and me comply.

What we are forced to comply with is totally and utterly irrelevant to them, it matters not at all.

They'd be happy making us wear purple clown shoes every third Monday of the month and stand on our head and jerk off every third Friday.

Right now, they still dress it up with some semblance of "rational" thought, for the "common good" or "for the children" or some such nonsense.

But that is just window dressing, bells and whistles, smoke and mirrors so as not to spook the Mundanes, not just yet anyway.

So "It's going to happen anyway, make it faster?"

Sick. But I guess since he supports abortion and gay marriage while having once been a Republican, he's a libertarian in the minds of establishment idiocy.

So "It's going to happen anyway, make it faster?"

Fait accompli.

This is how it goes:

Liberty "nut": "This new _______ is going to destroy privacy and freedom and should not be deployed, funded, started or engaged!"

Statist: "You're nuts, you're paranoid, shut up ya conspiracy mongering weirdo!"

Later, when whatever new abomination (drones, surveillance, police abuse, whatever) that was being discussed above, is now fully "online" and shredding liberty, just like we said it would...

Liberty "nut": "See? We told you this would happen!"

Statist: "Ah, you're crazy, it's not so bad, you can't stop it, and we've been doing it all along, so why are you raising hell about it now?"

It's going to happen, so get used to it? Um, don't know how to break this to you, Bloomers boy, but in those locations where humans say, no, this isn't going to happen, it won't happen. The works of man are funny that way.

The Establishment doesn't give a rat's ass about Republican or Democrat. Those are distractions for the masses, not issues of substance. They can tell libertarians from the rest; libertarian means 'not with the program'. R and D can always find an excuse to get in the middle of your private business. Republicans will call it a law and order initiative, and Democrats will tell you it's a way to help them help you, but both will get their noses into your business. Only libertarians have no excuse for that.

We really should put together a compendium of the crap that was said about all kinds of stuff over the years before it was deployed...

Mouthpiece for the Casinos of Wall Street and the International Bankstas'. This is to protect the Ruling elites, all the global cabal organizations, the FIAT money of the New York Federal Reserve and whatever other aristocracy rulers inside the 5 New York boroughs of Mayor Marxist. As flawed as OWS was...the country also witnessed Bloomberg's militarized RIOT squads, disinformation, and propaganda campaigns instituted.

It's Bloomberg's Open Air Prison for all, with the exception of those sporting Super 180s/200s suits carrying breifcases.

Yeah, that's a good idea.

Let me get to work on that.

Well, with Bloomturd's attitude, I can see why he wouldn't want folks being well-armed. He probably fears for his safety, and rightly so.

Nah. Not his safety. He's immortal, like a god. Just ask him.

No, he wants to disarm you because if you've got guns, you need only get as used to cameras everywhere as you want to be, like free men. Because after all, it's hard to armor stuff the lens can see through...

He's a man of his word. He has promised to shove cameras down your throat. So, he needs to disarm you so he can keep his word. It's all so simple and harmless.

We have an awful Mayor's race in L. A. Both who made it through the 'top two' multi party primary are Dems and both are union candidates and otherwise not precisely what I want for a Mayor. But one of them has Bloomberg financing commercials for him, so I am voting for the other one.
