Nanny Bloomberg: Role Of Government Is To Give AdviceMarch 8, 2013

Funny, I always believed that the role of the government was to uphold the laws of the land and assist in keeping the peace. Then again, I’m not a progressive like Big Nanny Michael Bloomberg. When asked if he would ever force citizens to buy gym memberships he said he probably wouldn’t (http://politicker.com/2013/03/bloomberg-says-government-probably-shouldnt-force-people-to-exercise/) because it’s not the government’s role to force people to do things. (He ought to tell that to Obama.) No, he said that his bans on things like large sodas is really just a “suggestion” because they can always buy two smaller sodas, because the government’s role is to give advice.

“Well, you have to be practical about what legally you can do and what people will do,” said Mr. Bloomberg. “The nice thing about the soda thing is it’s really just a suggestion. So, if you want to buy 32 ounces, you just have to carry it back to your seat in two cups. And maybe that would convince you to only take one, but if you want two you can do it. I think government’s job … is to give you advice, not to force you do things.”
Mr. Bloomberg did note, however, that the government does force behavior under certain circumstances. Nevertheless, he said forcing physical exercise “probably” crosses the line of acceptability.

Read the whole thing (http://politicker.com/2013/03/bloomberg-says-government-probably-shouldnt-force-people-to-exercise/), he went on to elaborate on what circumstances allow the government to force people to do things. Luckily for the people of New York City, going to the gym isn’t one of them. Whether or not he’ll force gym-goers to turn down their iPods (http://lonelyconservative.com/2013/03/nanny-bloomberg-going-after-earbuds-next/) is another story.

Bloomberg spends a lot of his time mayurbating. Thank God NYC is in such great shape that he can concern himself with such trivial matters. Come to think of it, maybe it's best if he only concerns himself with such trivial matters.

Fuck you, bloomburg! Role of government is to leave people alone, and let them make their own choices.
