What do you think of Rand Paul's Budget Proposal for 2013?

I think its a step in the right direction and better than any other proposal that I have seen reported this year.

His Medicare program would be offering seniors the Federal Employees Health Plan, which would surely be popular. To the average folks, if you can get past the media spin about how draconian eliminating 4 departments would be, there's a lot to like. Big tax cut, with the first $50,000 tax free. Congressional health plan for seniors, that's something John Kerry practically ran on in 04.

Someone share with me a possible path to this budget passing because I'm feeling a little pessimistic.

How is he going to get democrats on board?

Most of the legislation he introduces has no chance of a vote or any type of floor discussion, because the Senate is Democratically controlled. It does however serve as a useful point of reference. Not getting immediate gratification doesn't mean the goalposts aren't moving.

I skimmed it and it looks good to me. 17% income tax with an exemption for the first 50k of taxes is an excellent proposal.
