MSNBC's Rachel Mad Maddow rips into Senator Cruz

An incensed Rachel Maddow tore into Republican senator Ted Cruz and called for further gun control on her Thursday show.
Maddow started the show by telling anyone with a connection to the massacre in Newtown that they might not want to watch the segment. She then shared new details of the shooting that were uncovered by the Hartford Courant (http://articles.courant.com/2013-03-13/news/hc-newtown-lanza-mass-murderers-20130313_1_adam-lanza-nancy-lanza-lanza-s-newtown). The one that seemed most chilling to her was that Adam Lanza took just five minutes to shoot 152 bullets and kill 26 people.
"Had he only had access to ten-round magazines instead of 30-round magazines he would have had to reload 14 times," she said. "He would have needed 14 spare magazines beyond the one in the gun with the extra round in the chamber. Reloading 14 times. You think he would have still pulled off the whole thing in less than five minutes?"

Feinstein --who came to political prominence after the assassination of San Francisco supervisor Harvey Milk and George Moscone -- grew so angry at Cruz that she accused him of treating her like a sixth-grader.
"Let the record show that you can be a United States Senator for 21 years, you can be 79-years-old, you can be the chair of the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence and one of the most recognizable and widely respected veteran public servants in your nation, but if you are female while all of other those things, men who you defeat in arguments will still respond to you by calling you hysterical and telling you to calm down," Maddow said.

We could similarly assert, with Maddows' logic, that Feinstein condescended to Ted Cruz because he was both young and a male, and that both of these distinctions disqualify him from making a legal based argument in the chamber of law making. BTW Cruz's treatment of Feinstein was exacting in its attention to the most dignified of Senatorial protocol. He was supremely formal with every choice of words. Maddow just lowered herself to a new low. Maddow does a terrible disservice to women when she invokes a sexism claim where none exists and implies that a woman is victimized because she cannot compete in an intellectual discussion within the context of the debate function incumbent upon her as an elected Senator.

It's one thing to cherry pick facts and edit soundbites & video to paint a dishonest picture of things. It's another to just make up stuff like this ("He called her hysterical and told her to calm down?"). The Republican Party has enough buffoonery to give Maddow plenty of material to work with. This segment of hers was a different kind of low from Rachel, from what I've seen in the past.

The northeast anti-gun States are home to too many gun manufacturers to list.I hope some of them pull up stakes and move to more gun friendly States.I do realize that this would be a difficult and expensive undertaking,but thinking of all that tax money going to people trying to bankrupt you and drive you out of business has got to anger them.
