Maybe we need a new marketing concept here to appeal to social conservatives. How about "freedom to sin?"

We must have the freedom to sin -- it is not the state's job to pass judgment on us for nonviolent crimes -- that's God's job. The job of warning and persuading sinners to repent and change their ways, that's the Church's job, not the state's. And social conservatives should want people to avoid sinning because of what's in their heart, not what's in the law. Otherwise how will we know who the truly "good" people are?

(for context, I'm agnostic, so this is a strange topic for me to spearhead)

Actually, Mormons believe this. Some of them work in casinos. In the world, but not of the world. I have no problem with this. If the masses are bound and determined to have government health care, use a sin tax to pay for it. Legalize gambling, prostitution, and drugs. If one doesn't drink, smoke, gamble, or buy whores, they don't pay the taxes, and they get free health care. Built in incentives. The church folk would get free health care.
Again, I'm not advocating government health care, but if it was forced upon us, I think that would be the way to go.

When I was a teen - I can not even begin to describe the number of people of both genders that took up the phrase - "God forgives sin - so Sin is in!"

Nuff said!

EDIT: re-read your explanation.

How about:

it's your job by having God work through you to change lives -so man up, live your faith, and quit shirking responsibility like a nanny stater would.

Are you new? Have you actually talked to social conservatives? ;)

"Freedom to sin" would sound to them like you are advocating for people to sin. They think they want fewer people sinning and that would solve everything. They are not really concerned about the methods it takes to get fewer people sinning - whether that means more people going to church, or the state taking matters into their hands - they just want what they want. Many of these people are really progressives that want government to change the behavior of society, but in the manner they deem appropriate.

If you want to consider any marketing approach for these folks, it would be something along the lines of "more people sin when the government tries to control sinning."
