@RepJustinAmash: "I definitely will take a good look" at the MI Senate seat, but "it's a marginally Democratic state."

I don't know if Dave is at a speech of his or interviewing him.

At a pre-CPAC libertarian happy hour for Rep. Justin Amash. Crowd cheers when he's introduced as "someone John McCain called a wacko bird."

There is a "Liberty on the Rocks" happy hour in advance of CPAC. Massie joined Amash as well.

Yeah, it's one of those petition things paid for by Justin Amash for Congress.

How bad ass is that to see - Massie and Amash

Amash apparently said Massie was the best Rep in congress. A NRO reporter tweeted it with the hashtag #bromance

TMass and JAmash are the only two reliable Paul votes in the House, the rest are just peripheral allies on certain issues as much as it pains me to say. However, I'll take as many 80 and 90%ers as I can get up there.

Who invited Weigel to a libertarian event???

Weigel used to write for Reason.

And now he writes for the soon to be defunct Slate. He fell off the bandwagon a long time ago. That's my point. What's yours?

Is Slate going down? I told Weigel he should have gone back to Reason, "if you can, hauling that gargantuan cranium about (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qRmLGYSc0XQ)..." Then he blocked me. LOL I hope he didn't cry himself to sleep that night on his huge pilla.

I hate that guy.

To be fair to Weigel, some think the REASON he lost his job at WaPo was because he was banded against by the JournoListers who were offended that he spoke in defense of Rand on one point, and he has long said he voted for Ron in 2008. Having said that, I believe he is left libertarian and not consistent. But I don't think he is the enemy.

I hate that guy.Me too. Sadly I misspoke about Slate going away. I was thinking of Salon. Dammit.

He voted for Obama in '08 (http://reason.com/archives/2008/10/29/whos-getting-your-vote/18), and probably '12 too. I wouldn't even call him a left libertarian, since all of them hate Barry's Big Fascist Medical System. Not him. I find him pathetic, since he seems so desperate for the "cool kids" to like him. Not that he'd care what I think, being as I'm just one of those "screaming Ron Paul fanatics" and "Paultard Tea Party people (http://reason.com/blog/2010/06/25/weigels-trials)."

About the only good thing I can say about him is that I used to enjoy his Friday Political Threads (http://reason.com/blog/2007/11/09/the-friday-political-thread-re).

Oh too bad, Angela! So Salon is going down. That's what they get for letting Greenwald get away.

He didn't lose a job because he was defending Rand. He lost that gig (although Slate is owned by WaPo) because he was caught trashing conservatives on a private email list where liberal "journalists" got their talking points straight. There was no way WaPo could continue to pretend that Weigel was a real conservative.

I think Greenwald probably took the new job for a couple of reasons....the unknown future fate of Salon being one of them.

Well, that wasn't my take away from it at the time. JournoList was trashing him for saying good things about Rand at the time, and used that as an excuse. They are happier with neocon conservatism than our brand. And he did vote for Ron in the PRIMARY in '08.

He follows the Pauls and gives them ink when others don't. It does have shards of glass in it, but he still seems better than the bulk of them, although my understanding is he also pushed the newsletters. I see him as a more Johnson/Huntsman inconsistent sort, but whatever.
