We need Paul Revere more than ever. Call it ignorance, lack of historical perspective or just the fog from years of cultural marxism.

Our Jan. 2013 survey ( http://www.people-press.org/2013/01/31/majority-says-the-federal-government-threatens-their-personal-rights/2/ ) found only 26% saying they can trust government always or most of the time, while 73% say they can trust the government only some of the time or never. Majorities across all partisan and demographic groups express little or no trust in government. However, there are disparities: more than twice as many Hispanics as whites 44% vs. 20%) trust the federal government, and more blacks (38%) than whites trust the government. People younger than 30 have more trust in government than do older people. And far more Democrats (38%) than independents (21%) or Republicans (15%) say they can trust the government at least most of the time.

My March 2013 survey found that 100% of my brain felt that it could not trust polls to provide worthwhile data.

There are very simple explanations for this.

1. Young people have government skool propaganda fresh in their minds. They are more likely to have a positive view of government.

2. Government has created a permanent underclass within minority communities. Government social programs are targeted towards this group and creates dependency.

I think if more citizens directly felt the pain associated with maintaining this behemoth government, less and less would support it's growth. But with the redistribution lever, you can pit demographic vs. demographic without really losing any steam. It's a brillant model for societal control. Imprison the citizenry with the labor from their own brows.

Looking at the trends of that poll, people seem to want less government during a Democratic administration and more of it during a Republican one.
