Greedy Lying Bastards (http://greedylyingbastards.com/) is a documentary film on the politics of global warming, playing in theaters this weekend.

As it's rather provocative title suggests, this movie is all about exposing the bad guys--the fossil fuel industry, the private climate change denial "think tank" groups that they fund, and the politicians and media outlets sympathetic to the fossil fuel industry. The movie features several hero climate scientists, who focus on the political efforts to suppress climate science, rather than the science. Other "heroes" (http://www.exposethebastards.com/heroes) featured include politicians such as U.S. Representative Henry Waxman, several environmental journalists, and environmental activists such as Kert Davies of Greenpeace. The movie is produced by actress and climate activist Daryl Hannah and directed by filmmaker and political activist Craig Rosebraugh.

The movie is at its strongest when it traces the history of organized climate denial efforts in the United States. We learn through engaging and detailed 3-D graphics how tens of millions of dollars have flowed from the fossil fuel industry to organizations active in climate denial efforts. The movie spends a lot of time exposing the anti-climate science efforts of billionaire brothers Charles and David Koch, who jointly own majority stakes in Koch Industries, a large oil, gas and chemicals conglomerate based in Kansas. Through 2012, the Koch brothers spent $67 million to fund organizations engaged in climate science denial efforts, compared to $27 million spent by ExxonMobil on such efforts. Unfortunately, the movie was not able to mention the new power player in this game of thrones, Donor's Trust (and the affiliated Donors Capital Fund), whose influence has come to light only in past few months. Corporations who want to hide their contributions to climate science denial organizations can now launder them through Donor's Trust, who will keep the source of the funds secret. It's a charity, so this is all tax-deductible. According to mediamatters.org (http://mediamatters.org/print/blog/2013/02/28/how-the-dirty-energy-money-funding-climate-inac/192829), "Between 2008 and 2011, Donors Trust doled out over $300 million in grants to what it describes as 'conservative and libertarian causes,' serving as 'the dark money ATM of the conservative movement.' Donors Trust enables donors to give anonymously, noting on its website that if you 'wish to keep your charitable giving private, especially gifts funding sensitive or controversial issues,' you can use it to direct your money." The following chart created by The Guardian (http://www.guardian.co.uk/environment/2013/feb/14/funding-climate-change-denial-thinktanks-network), based on data from Greenpeace, shows that as ExxonMobil and the Koch Foundations have reduced traceable funding for these groups, donations from Donors Trust have surged:

Some weather modification COMPANIES in operation today inside the USA...

Look around. I'm sure you'll find more. Business seems to be booming. I'm beginning to think that the "news" is merely a glorified ad for this kind of "service". Or disservice. Guess it depends upon which end of the money grab one is on.

Darn, when I saw the title and the subject I thought it would be just the opposite, exposing all the filthy little pigs at the trough of fictitious Carbon trading scams and all the lying pseudo-scientists in the made up field of "climatology".

Don't be silly - then it wouldn't be the usual run of the mill propaganda.

How about CAFE standards one of the biggest scams where Billions given to Detroits big 3 by Clinton and the Bush's for emissions reductions and mileage increased standards. They just bribed the .GOV/EPA to change the measurement standards for both emissions and mileage. The big 3 pocketed those billions, which they turned around that taxpayer cash for corporate welfare stock buybacks. They jacked up the price of their stocks, hence bigger bonuses for all at the Big 3. Which just turned around and give a bit back in campaign donations.

It's criminal fraud, theft, racketeering, between 'Organized Crime Trust' of the Private Sector in harmony with the organized crime of government.

Now they will be using more propaganda to take another slise of everyone's piggy banks in Carbon BS fees/taxes

For anyone interested....

Tonight on Coast to Coast AM, Geoengineering Threats Wed 03-13 @ 1:00 am. Stream - http://www.newsradioklbj.com/Other/Stream.html

Researcher and activist Dane Wigington (http://www.geoengineeringwatch.org/) has been documenting disturbing changes in the environment called geoengineering. This includes various weather modification techniques including chemtrails and HAARP, as well as GMO crops. He'll discuss changes in the ozone, the melting arctic ice caps, and vast contamination of soil.

His web site - http://www.geoengineeringwatch.org/ - Pretty good web site, it looks like. Whomever does it has put some work into it. Seems like they have a growing number of people from around the world helping them with field work too.

I had seen "What in the World Are They Spraying?" But not "Why in the World Are They Spraying?" It's an interesting production, for sure. I myself am in the middle with the entire discussion. As always, I expect Coast to give it a good once over. There are a lot of political angles that change the terms of controversy on this particular subject of "Global Warming" (If that's even the right term). Few get them correct, in my opinion. Many who discuss the issue aren't particularly scientifically literate to begin with and tend to hop on whichever political angle their favorite pundit paints the narrative for whomever flips the bill. It's a business in and of itself. Rarely is it even discussed in the correct context.

Something that really isn't often considered in all of this, or is at least lost, is that it's true that if one can forecast/create climate or have leverage in what it will be then one can equally control a lot of futures markets as far as investing in advance in crop futures and agricultural activities. Cripes, weather affects 80% of the U.S. economy. That's a fact . Heck, a nd then you throw in the seed market with that? If you have insight to how products aare actually seeded? (think Monsanto) then profit is virtually unlimited. Weather Derivatives are a billion dollar annual payoff. You're betting on bad weather. If you can contol it through the Chicago Mercantile Exchange..well then...this is certainly a motivator for folks to participate in the modification business. That's not to mention wartime application. Is a highly profitable way to play Problem/Reaction/Solution with the weather. Especially when the majority of folks are spinning themselves six ways from Tuesday with each other versus silly political narratives from the main stream cable and radio networks. All they'll talk about is the same old stuff that fuels the nonsensical discussions we read all over the web about "Global Warming". It's spin and has nothing to do with the nuts and bolts of what we see happening with "Climate Change".

Anyhoo. You bring into discussion a very important topic, presence. Unfortunately, like most of the really important things of scientific nature methinks it will be buried and lost forever in the board within a day or two. We really do need a science/technology section relative to economics and other human factors here. It baffles the heck out of me why there isn't one. Of course, other times it doesn't.
