I just emailed and snail-mailed Dr. Dobson and Focus on the Family the email shown below. As a member of an evangelical church, I feel that Christians are often spoon-fed in politics just as non-Christians are (and just as many of us were prior to discovering Ron Paul!!). Sitting back and letting FoxNews dictate to us, like Hannity tried to do to Dr. Dobson, is unacceptable.

We must reach out to our churches and show our friends that the top Republican candidates in this race are NOT socially, fiscally, or traditionally conservative at all, and that Dr. Paul has the most impecible record of all of the candidates when it comes to being pro-life and pro-family.

Feel free to use my message below to inundate Focus on the Family. The evangelical constituency is large, and able to sway elections as they did for GW in 2000 and 2004. Dr. Dobson is already disgusted with all of the candidates he "knows", so let's introduce him to Dr. Paul.

A Dr. Dobson endorsement of Dr. Ron Paul would be an instant 5-15% jump in polls nationwide. This would be huge!!

-----------------
Focus on the Family,

In recent weeks, I have heard Dr. Dobson on various media programs, including Hannity & Colmes, explaining his opposition to Rudy Giuliani and Mitt Romney.

I personally would like to sincerely thank Dr. Dobson for speaking of his values, and using the term "principle" when discussing the matter of which candidate he will endorse. It is time that America begin rejecting the notion, one that Sean Hannity himself began pushing on his show, that a "lesser of two evils" is a better choice for America than the "most evil". I am glad to see that this is unacceptable to Dr. Dobson, as it is unacceptable to me and my family as well.

However, rather than listen to Giuliani (not a social conservative) and Huckabee (pro-illegal immigration and corporate bedfellow) "describe" themselves as strict constructionists who care for the Constitution, there is only one Christian Republican who is 100% pro-life, 100% pro-Constitution, 100% pro-family, and 100% for religious freedom in this nation; and that candidate is Congressman Ron Paul.

As a practicing obstetrician, Dr. Ron Paul has delivered over 4000 babies, and strongly believes that life begins at conception in the womb:

(recent video in NH - 0:20 question asked): http://youtube.com/watch?v=kRJKbEs5HgE
(Ron Paul at the 2007 Natl. Right to Life Convention): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KXZpuIXEzWk

Ron Paul has introduced pro-family legislation to give families choices, when it comes to education for example:
http://www.house.gov/paul/congrec/congrec2001/cr013101b.htm

Ron Paul has fought against anti-family legislation, such as the recent "hate crimes" bill:
http://www.lewrockwell.com/paul/paul385.html

More and more pastors are turning to Ron Paul's CONSISTENT pro-family and pro-life views, as is Pastor Chuck Baldwin:
http://www.newswithviews.com/baldwin/baldwin412.htm

As a deacon for Dr. Kennedy at Coral Ridge since 2004, and a Christian all of my life, I urge Dr. Dobson to consider reviewing the consistent pro-life and pro-family track record of Dr. Ron Paul, while also reviewing the reasons why Dr. Paul has voted the way he has. Any questions on his record, contact his campaign or office (www.ronpaul2008.com) - I'm sure his principled record will be clear.

I, being only 31 and a father of five, have personally never been involved in politics before in my life. Dr. Ron Paul has cured my apathy when it comes to this, and is a strong choice as a principled Christian.

And if you think he doesn't stand a chance in this race - think again. Ron Paul is in 4th both New Hampshire and Iowa polling at 8%+, with over $9M earned in Q4 so far (FYI, Giuliani only raised $11M in Q3, and Fred Thompson raised only $7M).

Dr. Dobson, your endorsement of Dr. Paul would go a long way, allowing our nation to get back to "principle" and the Constitution, and away from the attacks on life and our family.

Thanks for your consideration,

I think we need to organise an Ad in Charisma Magazine or the like. Possibly Get RP on TBN or CBN. He won't pander to them but he does have possibly the best pro-life record of any candidate ever. As far as I know he is the only candidate to roll up his sleves and actually go save some babies.

I would have also included his testimony about his position on abortion:

One day I walked into an operating room, to just be an observant, which we would do generally, as a medical resident. They were performing this hysterectomy, which was a caesarean section. And they lifted out a fetus that weighted approximately 2 pounds, and it was breathing and crying. And it was put in a bucket and set in the corner of the room, and everybody in the room just pretended that they didn't hear it. And the baby died. And I walked out of that room a different person...

That is a lot more marketable than 'technically is should be a state issue... privacy is a red herring yadda yadda...'

That is an awesome testimony!!
You're right - that is much more telling to Ron's beliefs...

Call his "focus on the family" group up yourself! I did

Tell them your history as a Christian... and tell them you were curious about Mr. Dobson's personal Endorsement for President.

And how you couldn't vote for a liberal.... that supports murdering babies, higher taxes, gun control, and has no respect for the constitution.

tell you could never vote for a Mormon... as a Christian... as that would violate your religion.

Be Voting for a CULT member.

Thompson worked for Pro-abortion groups... linked to Nixon.... voted to restrict our right to own guns 13 times.

McCain is a Liberal

Tell the person the Federal Government CAN NOT go into our personal lives in regard to Abortion or Marriage..... those should be left up to the states as RON PAUL suggest.

And if Dr. Dobson tells you that Ron Paul is bad, UnAmerican and UnChristian, what will you do?

As a Christian, I think our actual heritage is the bible alone and a clear conscience. In other words, I expect other sincere Christians to be far more swayed by biblical scripture and reasoned arguments.

Perhaps its just me, but endorsements runs especially counter to this. Why don't you just present Ron Paul's views, and show why they are the right ones? For instance, that not upholding the constitution after you take your oath of office is lying no matter how you spin it. This campaign is about moral issues. Issues like torture and wiretapping are wrong, really easy ones it seems to me to explain. Someone's endorsement isn't - its a weak reason to support a candidate.
