Not sure if this is meant as criticism of Rand, but it is good because it shows that doors are opening to a broader debate.

Even if broadening the debate means criticizing Rand in order to make that happen, then we need to do it, and do it without hesitation. We need to make it morally repugnant for the government to murder anyone, any place, for any reason.

But by Rand being politically savvy about framing his argument in a more focused and narrowed scope, he has incited the debate about foreign drone strikes that might otherwise not be erupting right now - CS Monitor case in point. He would not have succeeded politically Wednesday if he had broadened his objection to foreign drone strikes. But now we see many others with clout extending the argument in a very healthy way, and I believe we have Rand to thank for it, as well as the people who are jumping into the fray of dialog.

It is a big issue. they were finding 50 to 1 collateral damage to combatant so they CHANGED THE RULES and now ANY military aged man or youth killed by a drone is presumed to be a combatant unless PROVEN otherwise.

Which is bull feces. Guilty by reason of age.

This is what was meant to happen. Let Rand be criticized not for being too strident, but for being not strident enough. This helps to redefine the meanings of "mainstream" and "moderate" from "fuck the 5th Amendment" to something more civilized.

How many tiny little arms and legs will it take.
