Aww, how cute! Turns out Canada has its own get-together of conservative activists. It's a lot like America's CPAC, except it's called the Manning Networking Conference and there is approximately 180 percent more apologizing.

Best of all, instead of inviting asshats like Donald Trump to the party, their special guest speaker this morning was Ron Paul. Obviously, the best thing about Ron Paul in Canada is everything. The other highlights?

* The standing-room-only crowd was instructed to give Paul a "good Canadian welcome." It's nice to know that Paul is now a rock star who needs to be reminded where he's doing his gig.

* He covered all the standards. No central banking, no drug war, something about the collapse of the USSR. Sounds like a classic Paul setlist.

* There was a press scrum, where Canadians could stop being polite and start getting real (just kidding, they were always polite). The future of the GOP according to Paul? "Dismal." The answer to every other question? "Liberty."

And then there were lots of "wooooos!" for Paul. The truth north remains strong, free and possibly a little high.
