Rand is making the rounds today. I think we may look back on this day as the launch of Rand's national career.

this is very rare for Rush to conduct an interview, I can't really remember the last time he did. he has been heaping on big praise for Rand since the beginning of the show, Beck's show was a 3-hour lovefest as well.

Rush said the filibuster could be a special event that turns the GOP/conservative movement around and reinvigorates it. He's was kind of hyping this interview too, said he has some further comments reserved until he speaks to Rand.

CaptLouAlbano
03-07-2013, 12:24 PM
That statement Rand just made on how he would deal with al-Aulaqi was very well done. He prefaced it with, "not everyone agrees with me, but let me explain how I feel on this..." and then laid out the position and sounding reasonable while doing so, then concluded with "there's not many of these people anyway, so it's not something we have to deal with often". Well done

Oh and Rush does not have guests on much (we know that) but Rand is going to be on for two segments. That is real good.

Wow, do you think the Rush crowd has ever even heard about Abdulrahman (the 16 yr-old) killed by a drone? Paul handled it masterfully.

Rand explaining the 16 year old killed two weeks after his targeted father . . .

second longest filibuster since Senator Strom Thurmond - just under 13 hours - who had filibustered for 24 hours last in the 1950's

Rand on Fox News next

Actually they forgot about D'Amato in 86 who went for almost 24 hours. D'Amato also went for 15 hours in 92.

So I think we have to give D'Amato the award for the iron bladder.

Pretty fair interview from Rush overall. Rand explained his positions without pandering to Rush and his audience. Rand is still on the PR Randpage

Rand explained his positions without pandering (or sounding crazy) to Rush and his audience.

That's Rand's strongest ability.

Why nobody mentions Mike Lee? Both Rush and Michelle Malkin are only mentioning Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio as the guys that helped Rand early on

scottditzen
03-07-2013, 12:58 PM
Noteworthy: Rush is mentioning the support Rand is getting from Progressives; and NOT using the fact to criticize them or Rand, but to demonstrate just how off-base Obama is on this issue.

Also, prior to this he went on about the very real fracture of the party. Basically how the party is ignoring the will of the people and instead, just going with the flow (he's gotta mean McCain, Graham obviously). And who is gonna carry the torch to unite the party in a new direction? Mentions Rand in the very next breath.

Edit: Rush just now mentions "The Old Guard/Ruling Class Party members" and so yeah, he means McCAIN...just played the idiotic McCain soundbyte criticism Rand. Yeah, Rush is likely going to try and spin this Randpage (tm) momentum to himself somehow. But got to give credit where it's due. A rare props to Rush Limbaugh.

Could this be a turning point where people come to realize that its not about parties, but the peoples freedom vs the power of the ruling class? If so a lot of agents may feel its now safe to come out of the closet without fear of reprisal.

Rush practically hates McCain. He might have more disdain for him than Ron Paul. He usually gives the presidential candidates interviews, but he never did for McCain in 08. Instead he interviewed Palin.

Don't get what I have to say here wrong; I understand this is good for Rand, and I support his filibuster 100%.

But I hope everyone realizes that Rush would not be on board with this if it was George W. Bush who wanted to use drones on Americans....he would be implying that the opposition are unpatriotic anti-American terrorist types. For Rush, it's not about the issue, civil liberties, or the Constitution. Rush is all for anyone who smacks down a Democrat, and in his mind that's how he sees what Rand did yesterday. That's all this is.

Heard what F***ing McCain said, if he thinks drones killing Americans in the US is so preposterous, then he should have no problem supporting legislation outlawing drone strikes on US soil.
