Just when I can't stand Stewart anymore for the absurd partisan bashing he gets away with in the name of satire, it's nice to see he's still willing to stand up for one of the few good things liberals used to stand for.

Just saw him and his backhanded "compliments" on the idiot box... 2 minutes of his special brand of idiocy was about all that I could take today...

Stewart has been a vocal critic of the drone program for quite a while.

And Jon Stewart mentions Rand Paul for a good 3 minutes of his program and then morphs into a segment on sequestion bullshit for the rest of it.

Not to mention that he downplayed Rand Paul's filibuster with his showing of "What are you going to hit Jane Fonda with a hellstorm missile" with no context or reason. Fuck Stewart. The more I watch of him the less I can stand him.

Go easy on Stewart please. He was the only loud voice on national TV pointing out the MSM's ignoring of Ron Paul after Ames, and he covered the NDAA when the MSM wouldn't. He directly confronted BillO about the shoddy treatment of RP. And so on.

What we need are not people who share our political views. What we need are honest people. That is where we start to win.
Honest people who won't defend the Obama administration's crazy assassination programs, and honest people who wont' defend the Bush administration's fraudeulent wars and torture programs.

I really liked Jon better when the majority of what came out of his mouth was related to Jack Daniels and weed

Stewart is a comedian, not a journalist. He's not obligated to play it straight for an entire show unless it's an issue he feels very passionate about, like the 9/11 First Responders bill. Occasionally he'll interject personal opinion, but he's not there to tell the news. He's there to poke fun at it.

He's an entertainer, and as long as Paul's filibuster lasted, it's not something he's going to devote an entire episode to, particularly when he already had a planned guest and everything. Jane Fonda line is, yes, out of context, but so is most of what Stewart plays for the audience. Plus it was part of a series of clips he played from the filibuster just to show how long Paul had gone on and the topics he went into. That and both he and Colbert have a very devoted base of young people, so at least they caught a glimpse of it.

His show isn't live. Rand hadn't been going all that long when his show taped. I expect tonite will be better.

If you watched till the very end, he also showed a clip of Rubio blundering and making a fool of himself too. It was awesome!

Stephen Colbert is leading off his show with Rand Paul's filibuster as well.

He showed the picture of Jane Fonda hanging out with the North Vietnamese in the upper right. I think that put it into context for most thinking people.

Ron also credited him and Leno as the only ones who treated him fairly.

Not a fan of Stewart. He is "intellectually empty" just like most of these so called "liberals" who really aren't liberal at all. :p
