Hey, are there any mormon supporters of ROn Paul, and what's the chances we can get some major Mormon endorsements, it'd be killing two birds with one stone.

I am a Mormon, and we have a decent-sized and active Meetup Organization here
in Utah.

I am not sure who you would consider a Mormon endorsement, the church leadership will not endorse any candidate, but encourage people to study Constitutional principles and make educated decisions.

It's too bad Cleon Skousen is not still around, he would likely have endorsed Ron Paul and that would have been huge.

edit: lol thanks for the link Literatim! I did not know that Joel Skousen had come out so strongly for Ron Paul! Awesome!

Well I wouldn't know, I don't know who does the community look up to, like I know for Latino th Univision debate next month will huge and will definetley make a break my families votes, and an endorsement from Cristina is like an endorsement from oprah.

Us college kids... most political names we sight arn't very credible. For college kids some flashy flyers and those students for paul slims jim would do decent.

There really isn't any such thing as "Mormon endorsements". Many Mormons don't know what prominent figures are Mormon and there isn't any real medium for such endorsements to spread in the Mormon church. I used to be Mormon and I've spoken with some Mormons about this: not everyone supports Romney and Mormon support for Ron Paul is there.

The way to spread Ron Paul in the Mormon church is person by person. The religion has strict rules about making it seem like the church endorses any political figure or party, or using church property or material in a political process. I was a little surprised that the youtube video above was in what appeared to be a church building as I've never seen politics and religion mixed so much in such a setting.

Not an endorsement, but Ezra Taft Benson, former President of the LDS Church, made a very pro-Constitution/Ron Paul-sounding speech:

Wow...Surprising, as Joel Skousen is a big quoted individual on the other LDS forum I am part of and I had not heard about this. However, I am LDS and a strong Ron Paul supporter. The reason has already been posted here. Ezra Taft Benson, former President of the Church and also Former Secretary of Agriculture, and his writings, as well as other teachings of the Church. However, you won't find any specific politicing in the church. Our faith is very much about coming up with your own answer and testimony.

That being said, the best way to approach many members is not to tell them they are wrong. Nor, to preach to them. Simply, tell them why you support Ron Paul. Then, ask them to seek for themselves the true positions of the candidates and to pray on what they feel.

Mormons are as politically diverse as the rest of the pop. as a whole. We range from liberal-socialists such as Harry Reid, D-NV, to Ezra Taft Benson, our prophet until his death in 1994, and former Secretary of Agriculture, and I testify, as true an American patriot as Dr. Paul.
In between are neo-con kooks such as Orrin Hatch,R-UT.

Actually, a majority of the Mormons I know here in Salt Lake are voting for Dr. Paul.

Orrin definitely needs to retire and enjoy his twilight years with the grandkids :) He is getting a little senile in his old age.

On the site mentioned by the above poster, I found an interesting article. It was very educational...
