"The TSA Blues"

Ben Roper receives our "TSA Sleuth of the Month Award."

He found and forwarded me a link to "The Eric Clapton Fan Club Magazine" -- admittedly not a website Your Intrepid Reporter frequents.

It seems Mr. Clapton is as disgusted with the sexual assault and irradiation at the airports as the rest of us. He announced plans to boycott aviation in an interview with Rolling Stone Magazine and specifically blamed the TSA's "security" sham: "...for me, the struggle is the travel. And the only way you can beat that is by throwing so much money at it that you make a loss. So ... [w]hen I'm 70, I'll stop. I won't stop playing or doing one-offs, but I'll stop touring, I think. ... And security. I never get it right. I forget to take off my belt, or I have change in my pocket. Next thing I know, 'Can you come over here please?' I just don't want to do that anymore."

Who does?

Mr. Roper added in his email to me, "Not only do [the TSA's thugs] steal our dignity, now they’re stealing our music! Ugh!" No wonder he entitled his note, so to speak, "The TSA Blues."

Oh I pray for the day when the Yves Rossi personal jetpack becomes available to the average worker bee.

At least a larger prop driven model. :)

It would be great to hear at least 1 other person say those words...

Good for Eric Clapton. I don't blame him a bit.

I'm lucky enough that I have no personal or work related reason to fly anywhere, and I've been able to boycott flying since 2007, right before the introduction of the radioactive strip scanners.

Only problem is, it ain't gonna stop with flying. TSA harassment has already started at train and bus stations. And of course, the Supreme Court has taken a firm stand for civil liberties by declaring that purely random stops and searches are quite constitutional, thank you very much.:mad:

The perfect cirle of a tyrant's logic.

Random searches aren't unreasonable because they are random.

The TSA sucks, but the sad fact is that people happily line up and apply for jobs there to do that shit. I'd never be so desperate for money that i'd take a job assaulting, molesting, and harassing my countrymen...

And their victims happily line up and do the "Compliance Shuffle".

LOL - By the time any of could even come close to having one, the cost due to compliance, safety gear and tracking/monitoring devices would make it cost more than you house.

Which, come to think of it, a threshhold a lot of cars are starting to approach.

Sadly, these people aren't truly desperate. They want this.

TSA doesn't care. The TSA wins. They are controlling him by making him stay put like a good dog.

But, but, then they're gainfully employed...

A few hundred FRN's more every month than welfare and all the perks that go with a federal job.

Plus the statistics "look" better, another unemployed american has a "job"....... Never-mind that the "job" is a burden on those who are actually productive.
