Probably like you all, I'm a ridiculous Ron Paul 'slut'.
I can't get enough youtube, articles, and MP3 (thanks everyone for hosting and editing them).

I've been outside in my garage working on my cycle and I'm trying to figure out the BIG way to get Ron Paul's message out there. I mean MAIN STREAM.

And on comes a very familiar song from a VERY popular band some of you may know...some or many may not. The band is called System of a Down and ANYONE who listens to the heavier music knows them. Everyone.

And as I'm thinking about Ron Paul, and singing this popular song (Called BYOB) I thought about and realized what the lyrics were about. It's about war, likely the war in Iraq from there reference to Partying in the desert. (lyrics posted below...and they are a touch graphic..FYI)

Anyway...I have always known this is a VERY political band, much like Rage Against the Machine was.

I don't think it would take much to convince these guy to get on the RP bandwagon, once they learned about him. I can tell you right now...if you could get these guys on board, and they would publicly promote Ron Paul...I guarantee they are worth 1 million votes (and probably MUCH, MUCH MORE). They are THAT popular.

Anyway...does anyone have any contacts in Sony??

Here's the Wiki on them....very political

Lyrics
SYSTEM OF A DOWN LYRICS

"B.Y.O.B."

WHY DO THEY ALWAYS SEND THE POOR!
Barbarisms by Barbaras
With pointed heels.
Victorious, victories kneel.
For brand new spankin' deals.
Marching forward hypocritic
And hypnotic computers.
You depend on our protection,

Yet you feed us lies from the table cloth.
La la la la la la la la la,
Everybody’s going to the party have a real good time.
Dancing in the desert blowing up the sunshine.

Kneeling roses disappearing,
Into Moses’ dry mouth,
Breaking into Fort Knox,
Stealing our intentions,
Hangars sitting dripped in oil,
Crying FREEDOM!

Handed to obsoletion,
Still you feed us lies from the table cloth.
La la la la la la la la la,
Everybody’s going to the party have a real good time.
Dancing in the desert blowing up the sunshine.
Everybody’s going to the party have a real good time.
Dancing in the desert blowing up the sunshine.

Blast off, it's party time,
And we don't live in a fascist nation,
Blast off, it's party time,
And where the fuck are you?
Where the fuck are you?
Where the fuck are you?

Why don’t presidents fight the war?
Why do they always send the poor?
Why don’t presidents fight the war?
Why do they always send the poor? [X4]

Kneeling roses disappearing,
Into Moses’ dry mouth,
Breaking into Fort Knox,
Stealing our intentions,
Hangars sitting dripped in oil,
Crying FREEDOM!

Handed to obsoletion,
Still you feed us lies from the tablecloth.
La la la la la la la la la,
Everybody’s going to the party have a real good time.
Dancing in the desert blowing up the sunshine.
Everybody’s going to the party have a real good time.
Dancing in the desert blowing up the sunshine

Where the fuck are you!
Where the fuck are you!

Why don’t presidents fight the war?
Why do they always send the poor?
Why don’t presidents fight the war?
Why do they always send the poor? [X3]
Why, do, they always send the poor [X3]
They only send the poor [x2]

I like that song. Got a good base line.

Im not too sure where they stand politically. A lot of these political activist bands hate the government, but love socialism... if that makes any sense. They hate the people in power, they just think we need to get the right guys in power and give them more of it. Most of these guys are just plain dumb in their logic and reasoning.

But again, Im not sure where Sytem of a Down stands.

I think, judging by lyrics, Anti-Flag is right in line with a lot of the things Ron Paul is concerned about. I don't know however how well punk rock will go down with the conservatives voting in the primaries. Also, they're very anti-establishment.

Also again... only a tiny portion of people under 30 vote, so unless a band is going to get involved in some serious get out the vote, boots on the ground effort, AS WELL as supporting a candidate, the end result will be a few dozen votes imo.
