Hi all,

I just wanted to make known a website I help run that I'm hoping will help pull libertarians together to get more liberty candidates elected. I'm also hoping it will convert some neocons as well! Please, please visit and get involved. http://www.libertarianboard.com.

It's a good domain. It's hard to get a good forum going without a little magic. I wish you luck.

Especially if your only concept for salesmanship is going somewhere that offers the exact same service, is well established and is completely satisfactory.

Acptulsa,

First of all, posting it here is not my only "concept for salesmanship." I saw other posts promoting a libertarian website of sorts (mostly selling shirts or nic nacks) and thought it was kosher.

Second, the service is not the exact same. This is a forum about a political candidate and personality. He, as much as I hate it, has ended his political career. A forum about Peyton Manning is different than a forum about football - especially if Peyton Manning was to retire and not be playing football anymore.

The forum I've started was started with the intent of bringing libertarians together for the future of the movement. A forum about a great man who has retired from politics is not offering the exact same thing.

I suppose that depends upon how we use it. Doesn't it?

As long as you're logged on, try looking around for a minute...

FYI, this forum is inspired by Ron Paul to push the issues he stands for, if you check the mission statement. It was called 'Liberty Forest' between the 2008 and 2012 election cycles. If you check it out you will see that it is not all, or even mostly SPECIFICALLY about Ron Paul.

Having said that, I don't think we mind your introducing your site to people here. We like to see the liberty movement grow. If you were constantly trying to mine this place and tell them to go there instead, that would be different.

Heavenlyboy34,

Right now I've got 4 moderators. The database has 2100 members but few of them are active for the simple reason that in order for a forum to get going a lot of people have to participate at once or else people make posts that don't get replies or take days. A lot of people are joining but I think they figure they'll check later to see if it's more active...but you see why that won't work.

So what we're needing is participation. I'm wanting to see it help get liberty candidates and Ron-Paul Republicans elected by having sections dedicated to states and being able to inform and organize a lot of libertarians behind a specific candidate.

I think that's because see the domain here at RonPaulForums.com and figure the site is only about Ron Paul (which doesn't mean as much now that he's retiring). That's where I want the Libertarian Board to come in. I don't see this site as competition at all and want it to continue to do well. I just want to get a jump on uniting liberty-minded folks for 2016 (and 2014 midterm elections).

That said, I wish you luck. Some people have a poor impression of Ron Paul due to some misguided report by the mainstream media and may be more open to working with the liberty movement outside of a forum dedicated to the former congressman. The more people to bring in, the better. The main idea of this post was to help educate you about the mission of this forum and why what you are doing is pretty much exactly the same thing as what our goals are with this place.

Where do you see that? That has to be some sort of default thing because I didn't put that anywhere that I know of.

Found it. That might have been part of default content that I pasted. I should have read over it more carefully. Thanks!

Yeah, maybe Beck Himself will come down the mountain...

Oh, sorry. You probably wanted real libertarians. That lets him out.
